Dallas Fort-Worth Airport

Last week I flew through DFW from London Heathrow to make a connection to Puerto Vallarta Mexico. Having read reviews on this site I was somewhat apprehensive about making a 2.5 hour connection. I have to say my experience was extremely positive. US immigration took about 5 minutes security another 5 or 6 minutes. American Airlines had tagged my baggage straight through from the UK to Mexico so all I had to do was present a completed customs form but not my baggage. I had more than enough time to make my connection. And all in one terminal - D - a pleasant and well-organised terminal. This was a much better experience than transferring at Mexico City.

Five gate changes in two hours is unacceptable. Even with skylink I was exhausted. Had to catch skylink three times to keep up with the gate changes. It seems to me that it is just short of a controlled chaos. Someone there doesn't know what they are doing or is unable to control what is going on. Could not find anyone that could explain why there are so many gate changes. The flight assistants I talked with even thought it a joke. I will no time in the future go to DFW. Hard to accept this concept without even a simple explanation other than the gate changes DFW is pretty nice to go through.

✅ Trip Verified | There are so many negative reviews abut DFW that I wonder whether I'm at the same airport as some of those reviewers. It may be the other terminals are more perfunctory than Terminal D, international. In many trips through DFW I have not encountered a problem save the occasional wait at TSA security. Arrivals are a walk in the park. Like all security the world around, it becomes easy if you simply take your time, remove everything and just do what you are expected to do. No shouting or anger on either side. The food outlets in D are great although I have lounge access and so generally eat there. One thing missing is a good bookshop but that is being renovated and should be around soon. Compared to LAX and JFK, DFW is a paradise and in my view comparable to places like Changi and Hong Kong but without the crowds. What could be improved: DFW operator, please please put in a decent coffee shop so we don't have to put up with the brown stuff that masquerades as coffee. Otherwise a great place to arrive and depart from.

✅ Trip Verified | I want to say thank you to the three employees who helped me. One took me to the right skyline and rode with me to my stop. One saw I was confused how to get out to find my car and gave me the assistance #. One stayed on the phone with me when I couldn't find my car and was exhausted and panicked. She found my exact parking space and led me to it even while I was distraught. I arrived 9/21 around 10.45pm, flight 462.

Connected through DFW on Sept 29 and return Oct 2, 2015. I was travelling on American Airlines and had about 1 hour to connect each time. First time was so easy. My arrival gate was next to my departure gate. My return trip caused me some anxiety as I had never passed through DFW before my outbound connection. We arrived at Terminal D and my connection was in Terminal A. The airport is huge. There was no one at my gate to asked for assistance. So, I followed the sign for the SkyTrain or whatever they call it. I went up a huge escalator and was at the station. There were very clearly marked signs. I boarded the next train for Terminal A (didn't wait 2 minutes for it). We made 2 short stops and my gate was the third stop. I made my connection in plenty of time.

✅ Verified Review | I had a great experience at Dallas Fort-Worth today. Easily made it through TSA, and had no problems finding my gate. I wish I would not have chosen American Airlines. They ran an hour late due to some type of problem. That was no fault of DFW. The airport was great.

Not Verified | I visited Terminal D which is the international terminal. Aiport connectivity is excellent. The terminal is modern, spacious and clean. Security lines were really short. On the air side, there are plenty of restaurants, libraries and even boutiques! Duty free service is excellent!

✅ Trip Verified | Terrible. Security slow. TSA agents standing around doing nothing while limited lanes are utilized. The bathrooms are disgusting and the stall “monitor” is inaccurate. Running water at faucets - wasteful. Nasty stalls and soap dispensers empty.

✅ Trip Verified | Terminal C had the absolute nastiest men’s room I have ever seen in an airport! Pee on the floor and it stunk. Thankfully I only had to stand to do my business. I cannot imagine how bad the sitter stalls were.

✅ Verified Review | Facility seems decent but follows the worthless trend of disrespect to smokers. This is one of the airport that force you to leave the terminal area and have to go back through security just to smoke! Airports like this are why when I can even if it takes way longer I rather drive. Thanks a lot Dallas Ft Worth airport! An airport to avoid.
