Bournemouth Airport

We feel this an excellent airport for local travellers but we are very disappointed to find that when dropping someone off there is a charge of £2.50. We feel you need to look at this as it could make a difference through principal that we choose to fly from Gatwick Airport in the future.

Absurd drop off/pick up parking charges my husband has been down twice within a week to drop off and meet his sister from an Alicante flight and it's cost him £5.00 for a 5 minute favour. Totally disgusting. Southampton doesn't do this why does Bournemouth have to? There's going to be havoc with people walking to entrance to meet their lifts - what will the consequences be then? Crazy!

I echo others astonishment at the draconian policy of extorting money from all who drop off or collect passengers at the airport. I also pose this thought: the airport has contrary to every usual current policy deliberately made walking along the approach road more dangerous forcing pedestrians onto the road. So when an accident happens and a pedestrian is injured as a result how will the courts respond? Will the airport by virtue of its policy in this matter be liable to pay damages?

Glad to see rip of Britain goes from strength to strength. Stop this absurd drop off charge - the main airports don't do it so why do Bournemouth? Bournemouth need to encourage new passengers not drive them away. Whoever decided this has not thought this through.

They are forcing people to pay £2.50 just to arrive at an average airport. I got out on the road and walked in - mainly because the taxi driver agreed with me about the whole thing being farcical - they tried to make that impossible as well by blocking all the pedestrian walkways and putting threatening signs everywhere. Pedestrian access should be a right and it should be free.

I encountered these charges for the first time when I dropped off my son last week. There is no warning whatsoever until you are within 20 metres of the only entrance into the Passenger Terminal which is at a traffic light controlled crossroad. The approach road from each direction is understandably designated as a no parking zone but once there one has no choice but to turn into the Airport Car Park unless you are prepared to do a 3-point turn in the road - which I will do next time. I took my complaint to the Customer Services Desk and was met with a good deal of weary autotalk about how 'all airports were doing the same every since the Glasgow bombings' - I don't think so. These charges are in my opinion made in the most devious and dishonest manner with passengers and their lifts having no option but to pay for merely being however momentarily on the airport land. If they really want to survive as a meaningful and successful business they should encourage not outrage their customers.

Have just paid £5 to drop-off and pick-up a minor at Bournemouth Airport and have been ripped-off in the process. The £2.50 parking charge is a total disgrace. Clearly the airport authority have to fund a new terminal building but if this is the price of progress then I think Bournemouth airport have just taken a significant step backwards with this parking policy. Will not be using this airport again myself. It only serves to angers the customers whose business you need and damages your reputation in the process.

I have used the airport before but have now been forced to pay £5 just to pick up and drop off my grandaughter. Another example of Rip off Britain. I object to being forced to pay an unreasonable charge and will not use Bournemouth airport any more. Forcing people to pay unreasonable charges is not the way to improve a business. No wonder passenger numbers are down. Bournemouth airport should rethink its strategy.

Use the airport often but tomorrow will be the first time with the drop off charge. Will not be paying the £2.50 charge on either trip but will be stopping in the road opposite the main junction and walking in. Cones sited in this road are not legally placed and can not be enforced. Bournemouth Airport is clearly struggling. An expensive new entrance and facilities and some things have not changed in donkeys years. I use it because it is very convenient. It could be so much better with very little effort.

I used to use Bournemouth a lot but now its been turned into a nightmare. Trying to drop someone off is confusing time-consuming and you get charged which is the final insult.
