❌ Not Verified | Disgusting experience. Unfriendly staff, no place to rest, small shopping area. If you have an alternative don’t use this airport. In general avoid both Berlin airports.

✅ Trip Verified | Berlin Tegel airport needs a massive update. Looks and feel like a timepocket stock in the cold war era. Very crowded and uncomfortable, with very limited facilities in form of resturant, WC etc.. This airport needs to closedown or completely rebuild in order to get into the 21st century. What an absolutly dump. A disgrace to the fantastic city of Berlin.

✅ Trip Verified | After travelling lots of airports around the world, Berlin Tegel is one of the worst. It is such a shame for a well developed and cool country like Germany is to operate an airport like this. There is no atmosphere and you only want to leave quickly. My observations after visiting the airport 40+ times during the last year: - facilities are mainly run-down and looks like it is: it is an airport from the 70ies - toilets are awkward small and sometimes dirty as in Berlin clubs. Especially the ones in the arriving area are embarrassing - restaurant facilities are very limited with no real space to relax / work - most staff is not friendly to unfriendly - seating opportunities are bad with embarrasing uncomfortable metal seats in Terminal D - Taxi service is still chaotic and sometimes in an aggressive mood if you try to pick up one in rush hour - connection with public transport is better than a couple of years ago but still uncomfortable - Lufthansas Business Lounge needs an update too - seats look like they were cleaned in 2008 at last Advantages: + short ways, 15 Meters from Taxi to gate + observation platform provides nice views to runways

❎ Not Verified | Awful experience here at Tegel. Rough metal seating at gates and unfriendly and incompetent staff makes a 4 hour layover here feel like a jail sentence, which is also partly due to the dull design, which must have gotten design tips from the US prison system. Toilets were stuck back in the 90's, with dirty facilities and cramped space. It is a miracle that this sad excuse for a transportation hub ia allowed to greet passengers into a city such as Berlin.

❎ Not Verified | What an awful dump. Aer Lingus should copy Ryanair and get out of here. Worse than the shed airports in Carcasonne and Beauvois. Really rude security staff. The club lounge had a guy who spoke no English on the desk - a terrible embarrassment for a great city.

❎ Not Verified | Worst airport in the western hemisphere. No decent restaurants, no entertainment, dirty amenities, unfriendly staff, huge waiting time at the check in counter. Embarrassing. This airport is a nightmare out of sixties that hasn't been improved since then. Avoid if you can.

✅ Trip Verified | Worst airport I ever travelled too. Who have to go through security at each gate separately. There are no accouncements if a gate changes and if it does you have to go out through security and back in again What a disaster. This thing was clearly planned and build by the most incompetent people in the world. Very poor seating area and no elevators to get up to the seating area. No restaurant etc inside - just a little coffee shop. This should be a huge embarrassment for a country like Germany and in particular as this is the main capital. A 3rd world country runs a better airport!

✅ Trip Verified | Terminal C is awful. Homeless people. Beggars. Filthy floors. Just disgusting. Nobody seems to care. Sat at the food corner for an hour, nobody cleaned our table. This is the filthiest airport I have had the misfortune to wait in. I will do everything to avoid this terminal/airport in the future.

❎ Not Verified | This is the worst airport I have ever been to. The queue for security was over an hour long with one scanner taking forever to get through. The gate was overcrowded with minimal facilities for passengers. This airport is not big enough to facilitate the volume it encounters.

✅ Trip Verified | Incredibly rude security man kept shouting at me in German when I misunderstood his instructions, with my son watching on. And this was to get to a pathetic lounge just for UK bound passengers! (Queue was 30 minutes with guards mostly standing about chatting).
