I find BIA very quick and efficient. It takes me a maximum of 15-20 minutes. I like the duty free however I wouldn't mind being given a wider variety of brands. Also I really think airport employees need to be a bit more friendly and the security personnel seem very relaxed. Having said that I really like this airport it saves me time and energy unlike larger mall-like airports.

On arrival as a transit passenger I always find the environment is lively. Security check queuing time is not high has a comparatively small but good duty free. Toilets are pretty clean liked the orientation of food area having some good brands. Airports staff are helpful. In the business class lounge the food is good with great taste of Arabian English and South Asian cuisine with free WiFi.

BAH was a great surprise on my BEY-MAA journey. Small and clean airport so much better than the nearby nightmare of DOH. Great transit times and free Wi-Fi internet that actually works with no senseless SMS authorizations and fees. A great airport.

Transit is a nightmare - no fast track for J/F class. Due to late arrival of our incoming we had 45 minutes to catch our connection. Competing with 350+ pax with all their hand luggage to get through "so called" security for transit took all of that time and if our aircraft had not waited for us we would have missed it. BAH - sort it and treat your premium transit PAX as they deserve.

Easy airport to transit through as it is small and compact (I had a 1hr 45mins transit time). Make sure your travel documents are in order as when I arrived at the transit desk 3 pax had been there for 4hr. The duty managers are all in the terminal and do not visit the transit desk that often it seems. Connecting Gulf Air to KLM no problems at all. The Dilun Lounge that is available for KLM Business class passengers is nice however located about 10min away from gate 12. I confirm the departure areas are extremely crowded at midnight with all the connecting flights and all the seating is occupied. BAH Airport is ok for a couple of hours but there is not a whole lot to do otherwise.

I had the chance to fly via Bahrain International Airport several times. I would like to point that for such small island in Mid East like Bahrain you people build and care for such nice and clean airport. I am very happy I had the chance to visit it and experience it. Keep it up.

In transit on Gulf Air from Addis Ababa to Athens - 6 hour wait. No idea there was a pay lounge. Had duty free confiscated as not in sealed bag. Lucky it was only alcohol and not expensive perfume or the like. Bags checked through but had obviously been opened - padlock broken off etc. Be warned of these issues! Transit desk far too small for number of people.

One of the reasons maybe that I fly Economy and do not go to the lounge (although the one time I flew business I found the Gulf Air lounge too small for the number of travellers poorly decorated and with a limited choice of drinks and food). The security controls are not done very seriously they do not ask you to remove your laptops and hardly look at the screen anyway. Gulf Air employees at check-in have always been very nice and smiling. The duty-free is quite big but the price level is not interesting at all except for cigarettes. The main issue is the insufficient seating capacity especially taking into account the fact that Middle-east flights to Europe are scheduled in the middle of the night.

Nice size airport no massive queues in or out. Airside reasonable array of shops but most items are quite expensive. Clean throughout. Dining options limited and a bit rubbishy. The main upside are lounges which are fantastic. Gulf First is brilliant as is the Dilmun - great view over the runway good array of food and bevs. Showers and so on. Not an airport to be for a long layover though - get out and into town if you can.

Lovely manageable airport - fast processing on arrival and departure. Perfectly adequate facilities though could use more seating.
