"not be flying with United again"

Trip Verified | I have been flying from Frankfurt to Greenville over Washington. My flight to Greenville had a 3+ hour delay and was then cancelled an hour before the flight due to “weather”. First of all the weather is fine so that’s inaccurate but i’m not an expert on that so i guess i can’t really judge that. However customer service at the Washington Dulles airport was rude and dismissive and couldn’t give me basic information on driving distances. I had to look it up myself and i feel that this is inadequate at best. They would not give me an overnight stay so i had to rebook my flight over to Columbia SC which is a great inconvenience for me and my ride. I will not be flying with United again, since they have proved to not be worth my money.

"the incompetence is staggering."

Trip Verified | Detroit to Newark. The incompetence of this company is staggering. Kept us on a flight for an hour and a half trying to fix the plane instead of just putting us on a different plane. Deplaned us and scattered us everywhere to try and rebook flights. I rebooked my flight and didn’t get to the counter before the loaded everyone. By the time I got my bag switched over (they have to manually do it through radio instead of having an electronic system) they overloaded the plane and I missed that flight as well. Finally I had to rebook again on 2 connections having me traveling the entire day! Then to top it off, they give me food coupons that weren’t even accepted by McDonald’s! Unbelievable.

"First and last time on United"

Trip Verified | Washington to Newark. First and last time on United. I purchased a basic economy ticket. If only I had known. When I went to check in for my return flight tomorrow, I was given an option of getting a voucher if I took a later flight. I would have taken a later flight, as something has come up where I'm visiting, but it would have to have been a bit later than the three flight options presented. I then made the mistake of calling customer service to see if they would help. It only made me more aggravated. You see, even though they have extra seats on the flight I would have gladly taken to free up my seat on their overbooked flight, I was told not only would I not be able to do that, I would be charged a bunch more money - I'd mention the amount here, but I could not hear the supervisor and she seemed annoyed when I asked her to repeat what she said. (I was calling from a good landline, not sure what they use over at UA). I don't envy those customer service reps. I would not want to be representing UA. I have since Googled about them and their customer service and business practices seem to be lacking, to put it mildly.

"staff were very rude"

Trip Verified | Denver to Tokyo. Requested for window or Aisle seat. It’s ok to have them say No to me. But staff were very rude and they don’t want even help, although they got seats. They said I need to pay additional $230 for purchasing the seat and price is ridiculou.

"Flight attendants rude"

Not Verified | 50 min to check luggage. Long lines, first needed to get ticket then wait in 2nd long line to hand over bag. 1 person checking in. Plane delayed. Flight attendants rude to those "in the back". Attendant at boarding also rude. Did not get regular status but found it online. Pilot was nice and tried to be accommodating. Had to pay extra to sit next to my husband.

"the worst carrier"

Trip Verified | Washington to Columbia. United is by far the worst carrier I have ever flown and done business with. Over the past 15 yrs they have screwed our flights on every occasion! From missing flights to losing our bags for over a year. We have limited opportunity because of the small airport we fly out of. We will drive to a major hub in Charlotte to avoid this airline going forward. I highly encourage anyone looking to fly to avoide United Airlines as well.

"See you, United Airlines, never again"

Trip Verified | QRO - Queretero, Mexico - to IAH Houston Texas - 2 hour flight seated in a United Arlines - Embraer 175 operated by Mesa Airlines. The seats had 0 - zero - padding and likened itself to sitting on a wooden church pew. I am not exaggerating. Literally no padding. If one inch (1") of padding was added to each seat, the plane would lose 2 rows of seats (8 seats) for that flight segment. Corporate greed couldn't be worse (of course it could be, but you get my point). See you, United Airlines, never again.

"would recommend this airline"

Trip Verified | Today I flew from Newark NJ to Fort Myers Fl with my five year old. Since I bought my tickets late my daughter and I sat in different aisles. The Flight Attendant Sumará was beyond helpful and gave my daughter extraordinary service by keeping her entertained throughout the flight. I am truly grateful and happy and would recommend this airline to anyone specially families with children. United airlines hires the best customer friendly staff. I will always fly United!

"customer service is the worst"

Trip Verified | I was flying from New Orleans to New York at 330pm and 3 Uunited pilots showed up 3+ hours late “due to traffic” (although everyone else arrived with out an issue for their flight). As you could imagine, lots of people to miss their connecting flights. When I called to get a new flight home I was told there weren’t any to take me to New York until the following day at 2pm. I had to stay in a hotel and was not given my luggage. The United staff I talked to about my hotel fought with each other for 15 mins before helping the customers and then when I got to the counter the lady “helping me” answered a phone call from her son on her cell phone and proceeded to talk to him while I stood there at 11pm waiting for a hotel voucher. The next day the weather was bad and the 2pm, 5pm and 930om were all cancelled. When I finally got home I was told by United that my flight would be refund to my card in 7-10 business day. When it wasn’t I called and wrote numerous online complaints. I was then told that I couldn’t be refunded because the flight was used. I told them I was supposed to be refunded and no one cared and I’m fact they were rude to me when I became upset. Then I was told they would give me a $100 voucher through email in 5 business days but AGAIN I have not received it. They don’t care about your time or your business. I fly very often and the customer service is the worst I’ve ever experienced.

"rude, impolite, impatient"

Trip Verified | New York to San Francisco. After my experience with luggage check-in today, I will not fly with United Airlines if possible. 70% of the UA Staff have no compassion to anyone. Mainly rude, impolite, impatient, made personal judgement before asking and high ego. This is my overall experiences after flying with United Airlines. I am giving my comment based on comparing with my regular airlines like Air Canada, Cathy Pacific, British Airways, Lufthansa and Condor Air. Sometimes, I wonder is this part of the training of United Airlines by offering this type of customer experience or it was simply the culture of UA.
