"can recommend United"

Trip Verified | Detroit to Chicago via La Guardia. Great experience. Check in was smooth and fast, no charges for the 3rd bag as star gold member. Lounge in LGA offers nice coffee and seats. Flight on time with a nice breakfast. United has real first class seats for first and business class. Ongoing flight to final destination DTW on time. Luggage delivery quick, I can recommend United.

"never fly United again"

Trip Verified | My boyfriend dropped myself & my 2 kids (11&3) off on Tuesday evening. We are from door county & it took 3.5 hours to get there. My car was running when bf helped us with our bags, and then he left. Long story short, I had my keys & he was stranded 20 mins away because it’s a push to start car & it turned off when he stopped. I asked customer service if there was anyway I could get my keys to the front or lost and found so he could take an Uber to come get them. They said there was literally nothing they could do unless I went back outside and started the whole process over. I said he isn’t here he has to find a way here. They said because he wasn’t a customer & they didn’t know him there was no way to get them to him. I said I could give you a picture, a name, a social, anything. They said “you could fed ex them” I said he is stranded at a McDonald’s while I have my keys 3.5 hours from home. They just kept saying we’re sorry there is nothing we can do. I think this was complete BS. How can someone just not walk to the lost and found where he could pick them up? They wanted me to go back outside to bring them to him, but he was 20 mins away. All in all, I think there was something someone could have done & because of this I will never fly United again.

Trip Verified | Seattle to New York. With jetblue I had a small carry on bag for free, with United your standard carry on I have to pay extra 30 bucks. Greed all over this company if you fly United just go with your street clothing. Would never fly United again.

Not Verified | I have had nothing but problems with United from start to finish. My flight was cancelled going out from Honolulu (not the worst place to be stuck) so had to get a new flight. I had to call to find out my flight was cancelled. No email or courtesy call. When checking into my flight at the airport the lady there was nice but other than that, I would give the flight attendants a zero star rating if I could. I asked for a refill on water and got nothing but attitude and an eye roll. Also, they were super rude about the wifi and simple questions asked throughout my flight. Landing was awful.

Trip Verified | London to Phoenix via San Francisco. I would not recommend this airline to anyone, my flight from San Francisco to Phoenix was cancelled due to weather conditions which I understand there is no control at all. But I at the airport for an additional 16.5 hours, I didn't get any accommodation or food vouchers as that isn't part of their terms, I got a discount voucher but they didn't know how much the discount would be for. I was told to go to the shuttle buses and ask which one takes me to the airport hotels, when I found out it would cost $300/£220 for the night, I went back to the airport to try and find somewhere to go or see instead of pointing me in the directions I was told to look it up on mobile phone and follow my google maps. I ended up being forced to stay in the airport until my next flight was leaving I had no food or water as I only had my English bank card on me and my bank would of locked my account. I was travelling alone they had no sympathy and i felt nothing could be done i didn't know what to do. Overall I believe they could have done more and should have done more to help me.

"A new low"

Trip Verified | 63 years old, always have 2 or 3 drinks and spend the extra to fly first class so I do to have to pull out a credit cards to pay. I am also 6 ft 4 so I like the legroom. Was just told by the stewardess that I would need to wait an hour as I had had 2 drinks. Flying from Denver to Los Cabos. Seriously quiet and composed. A new low.

"plenty of room in compartments"

Trip Verified | Horrendous! No wonder United has such terrible reputation! I was demanded to check in my carry on piece (it's called carry-on for a reason!) and was charged $30 for it - and it was an international flight! When I boarded the plane, there were plenty of room in overhead compartments. In fact, I've never seen so much empty spaces before! The airline claims it speeds up boarding process (for my $30?). Probably. But after they closed the gate, we stood on runway for an hour and a half. Getting to airport, passing security is already stressful enough, do they have to add to aggregation? Customer service line had 16 people, in 10 minutes I was waiting no one moved, except 3 passengers who gave up and left.

"thanks for a wonderful trip"

Not Verified | Sydney to Houston. I had the longest flight I've taken and I had a wonderful time. The crew were so pleasant and nice and the food was tasty. The seats were comfortable and the entertainment selections were awesome. What's more is that they were able to get my husband on the same itinerary as me when, originally, he was not on my flight because we booked his flight with points. All we had to pay was a $75 change fee. It made the flight home so much better. They even were able to get us seats next to each other! I've flown United for a while and they have always been very accommodating and I want to give my sincerest thanks for a wonderful trip.

"horrible experience with United"

Trip Verified | This is the second time in one month that I have had a horrible experience with United and how they run their business. I understand when things go unexpected, but when there is no one to help you, willing to help you and just plain terrible customer service, it makes everything worse. United employees tend to have no clue what is going on and half of them are simply rude. I experienced employees cursing out customers, walking away from customers and straight up leaving customers on their own to "figure it out." Fortunately I was one of the few that was able to get a hotel voucher for my night I spent stuck in Chicago, however when asking how to get there they told me the wrong information for a shuttle or where I needed to go. When I finally got to my destination the next day, I went to pick up my bags in Milwaukee and of course no one was able to be found at the United desk. When asking another airline where I might go to find someone, they replied, "I am not sure they are never here, I would try to ask ticketing."

"didn't offer me anything"

Not Verified | Houston to Detroit. On this United Airlines flight which I normally don't take, my seat was for 24b but there were a group of guy's that wanted to sit together and asked if I would mind switching seats with them so I did. The problem came when I thought I heard something announced about complimentary drinks and snacks will soon be given to the passenger's. When they begin to pass out the drinks and snacks, I watched as the people behind me and in front of me was given these items and not me, but the stewardess looked me in the face twice but didn't offer me anything. So I stopped her and asked her if I missed something, she said no but asked me if I wanted something to drink as I perceived it to mean to purchase a drink and I said no. So I stopped the other stewardess and said the same thing to her and added was the complimentary for certain assigned seats or people and she said no its for everyone - "did you want something to drink" again I was asked when other passengers have more than water, now I'm stewing because she told me that she served those behind me and in front of me and then going to say maybe you were asleep, how can you say that when you're looking me in the face. -It took everything in me to hold my peace.
