"Why are we having to delay this flight"

Trip Verified | Denver to Honolulu. We boarded our flight on time and once we all got seated we were told there was going to be a 50 minute to an hour delay. This delay was due to us having to wait for people to first arrive to the airport via another plane and they had to get all the way over here. Why are we having to delay this flight that’s already pretty full for a flight that was delayed at another airport?

"This was very much appreciated"

Trip Verified | Departure delayed. This was the last flight to SFO and I had a connecting international flight that I had to board. The transit time was tight but doable if everything went on-time. My flight out of YVR was delayed by an hour which meant that I would have to literally run to the international gate at SFO. I explained this to the gate agent and he was very empathetic and made some calls. Although he could not promise, he did say that I would most likely be able to make my connection. He was also able to give me some alternatives in case I missed my connection. This was very much appreciated!

"avoid United at all costs"

Trip Verified | La Guardia to Denver. We arrived 1.5 hours before our flight. We spent 30 minutes in line to check in with United and the next 40 minutes getting through TSA. It was 4:45am on a Sunday morning. We barely made the gate before they closed it. The lady at the gate told us we should have arrived earlier as if it was our problem they were understaffed at checkin. They also seated our 2 kids(below 10 years old) separately to us and could not change it at checkin since they told us to try the gate and at the gate they said it was too late. I am not sure how an airline can operate so inefficiently. Lesson learned. It is worth an extra amount of money to avoid United at all costs and to fly JFK and avoid LGA no matter how good a deal it may be.

"Delayed flights every time"

Not Verified | Nashville to Chicago via Duluth. Always used United because it is usually the cheapest flight. Husband flew home in early July via United (Delayed), flew home end of July (Delayed more than 4 hours) via United, and we are flying again, United, have just been told we have a 24 mins delay, so far. I sense a trend United = Delayed flights every time. We are told it is due to air traffic. Seems like they need some sort of organization. Will be testing other airlines for our future trips.

"This is subpar service at best"

Not Verified | Seattle to Tampa via San Francisco with United Airlines. Ridiculous. Poor communication from the on-boarding crew which began with a delay - thanks to holding a previous flight to see if any last minute passengers would surface. Then following their late departure our plane, which was not ready, took another half hour (and still waiting) to arrive to the gate. We are now an hour into this delay, the bathrooms and terminal are essentially closing and this over sold flight is waiting with virtually no clue as to what is happening or if we will be leaving. This is subpar service at best.

"Worst service ever"

Not Verified | Salt Lake City to Denver via Columbus. I was delayed out of Salt Lake City for an unknown reason for 2+ hours. Moved me between flights as I was told my new flight would arrive sooner, unfortunately for myself, the other flight arrived sooner and would have made my connection. We sat a hot plane in 90-degree weather for an hour and a half without the option to get off as it was "United Policy". Once I arrived and missed my connection I was rebooked to a flight to be on standby 2 hours later. Was initially 3rd in line when I booked. When boarding started I was bumped to 6th in line and finally when it came time to board I was 9th in line. 6 people on standby boarded the plane and I was not one of them. This airline could careless about the people they are flying and more about the dollar in their pocket. Worst service ever and will never fly again.

Trip Verified | Newark to Boston. My flight got delayed 4 times. Flight UA2323 so we had to pay for an Uber from Boston Ma to over an hour to our house since the person picking us up can’t come that late since he works. I have traveled all day with my pregnant wife and 2 year old and have been treated like garbage by the employees. We greatly appreciate ending our vacation in such a horrible manner.

"recent trip yet again displayed"

Not Verified | Seattle to Hayden via Denver. My most recent trip yet again displayed a problem that I have seen in all of my last six flights with this airline. Admittedly, the delay on this trip was short, only fifteen minutes. Small delays happen sometimes. That’s to be expected. The issue that delays are a chronic problem with this particular airline where I’ve had delays as long as four hours. Despite whatever else this airline may have done well, I score it a 1 because it consistently falls down on the one thing that travel specialist has to above all else: move passengers from place to place in a timely manner.

"What a nightmare"

Not Verified | What a nightmare. We arrived at the Airport expecting to fly to Montreal then Houston but they cancelled our flight, no reason given. Then in order to accommodate our schedule they rerouted us through Frankfurt and San Francisco. No upgrade offered even though United Airlines added 7 hours to our travel time. The seats are uncomfortable to boot.

"the worst experience"

Trip Verified | This is the worst experience I’ve had flying. I normally fly Delta or American Airlines but I thought giving united a try would be good. I was so wrong. From the check in to boarding there has been nothing but issues. First flight was delayed then cancelled so had to get on another flight the next day, technical issues which caused boarding to be 30 mins late and not only that, the only thing the representative could help me with was the customer service number. I would recommend paying the extra $$$ to fly delta. United ruined it.
