"I am sorely disappointed"

Trip Verified | London to Zurich via Lugano with Swiss Intl Air Lines. I am sorely disappointed by the poor customer service of this airline. My flight from London was delayed and I missed my connecting flight to Lugano. No help or advice was offered on the airline and I had to make my way to the flight desk at Zurich terminal which had a queue that would have taken an eternity to make my enquiry. I had no update on my phone and no one was around to help. I decided to make my way to the train station instead and take the train. Once I had informed Swiss air they confirmed a compensation for the train ticket and the last stretch of the flight that I had missed. They said it would take 22 working days but I am still waiting past that deadline. I have made numerous enquiries and sent e-mails only to be told they are waiting for bank confirmation. I'm absolutely appalled and disappointed by this poor customer service!

"flight itself was also very pleasing"

Trip Verified | Zurich to Bangkok. Flight booking was very easy and comfortable. After that 24 hours before the flight we were able to do the check-in. I actually forgot, but happily SWISS had an automated check-in and sent us the boarding passes per E-Mail with an Apple "Wallet" attachment. Very convenient. Bag-drop was also very nice. After that we went into the Lounge which was very cool with a balcony to see directly to the starting and landing planes. Besides that, they had good food, a lot of drinks to choose from (alcoholic and non alcoholic). The flight itself was also very pleasing, service was very good, the new airplane is designed very well. Seats have massage feature and offer lots of space. One downside is the Entertainment system which doesn't offer the newest and best movies. Still lots to choose from. Food was very pleasing and the menu was in all needed languages (incl. Thai!) which was very convenient for my thai-speaking mother. We always got what we needed and wanted. Staff always stayed very friendly and forthcoming.

"never fly Swiss anymore"

Trip Verified | Bangkok to Zurich. The online check-in system was very firm, my ticket did not include free baggage. So I could either pay an extra 60 CHF or just check in at the airport. Of course, I did the latter, and of course - then 22 hours later - no aisle was free. The check-in staff as well as the staff at the gate and the flight attendants refused to relocate, although I was reluctant to leave my left upper arm free for a few minutes due to a recent accident. But the staff did not care. Of course, I could have reserved a seat at the time of booking, but usually you will find in the early online check in a free aisle seat. But not at SWISS, because they are not able to offer a functioning Online Check In! Fortunately, in the end had a seat neighbor understanding, otherwise would have become the agonizing 12 hours. I will never fly Swiss anymore! Das Online-Check In-System behauptete steif und fest, mein Ticket würde kein Freigepäck beinhalten! Also konnte ich entweder zusätzliche 60 CHF bezahlen oder eben erst am Flughafen einchecken. Natürlich tat ich letzteres, und natürlich war dann - also 22 Stunden später - kein Gangplatz mehr frei. Das Check In-Personal ebenso wie das Personal am Gate und die Flugbegleiter weigerten sich, jemanden umzuplatzieren, obwohl ich wegen einem kürzlichen Unfall darauf angewiesen war, den linken Oberarm immer wieder für einige Minuten frei hängen lassen zu können. Dem Personal war das aber völlig egal. Natürlich hätte ich bei der Buchung einen Sitzplatz reservieren können, aber normalerweise findet man beim frühzeitigen Online Check In einen freien Gangplatz. Nur nicht bei der SWISS, weil die nicht fähig ist, eine funktionierendes Online Check In anzubieten! Zum Glück hatte am Ende ein Sitznachbar Verständnis, sonst wären das qualvolle 12 Stunden geworden. Danke SWISS; ich fliege nie mehr mit euch!

"Never again SWISS"

Trip Verified | Zurich to Manila via Hong Kong. SWISS sells connections that it does not intend to meet from the outset. Despite the short transfer time in Hong Kong, the SWISS waited for cargo rather than transporting their passengers on time! Mind you, the departure delay had nothing to do with weather or security or congestion at the airport; SWISS simply found it more appealing to earn a few extra franks by carrying any cargo than to get their passengers to their destination on time. Advertise with short transfer times, cash in there and then leave the passengers in the rain, which seems to be the business model of this rogue company. The transfer passengers were not rebooked on the next connecting flight but flew on until the early morning. The actually checked-through luggage we were allowed to check out and check in again (1 hour on the luggage belt waited!), And in between we had to wait hours on the transfer airport. A meager food coupon, which has just served for half a snack. In the end I arrived one night later than planned. SWISS refuses to pay for the hotel bed, which I was unable to use because of additional business and the resulting night-long delay! No apology of any kind, and the complaint will be answered with customer's mockery! Never again SWISS! PS. One year ago I flew with Cathay; at the request of another passenger, I was in the plane to two (!) rows of seats on an absolutely equivalent seat, and the Cathay has thanked by itself and without any impulse on my part with a $ 80 voucher. Die SWISS verkauft Verbindungen, welche sie von Anfang an nicht einzuhalten gedenkt. Trotz der knappen Umsteigezeit in Hong Kong wartete die SWISS lieber Fracht ab als ihre Passagiere rechtzeitig zu befördern! Wohlgemerkt, die Abgangsverspätung hatte nichts mit Wetter oder Sicherheit oder Stau auf dem Flughafen zu tun; die SWISS fand es einfach attraktiver, mit der Mitnahme irgendwelcher Fracht ein paar zusätzliche Fanken zu verdienen, als ihre Passagiere rechtzeitig ans Ziel zu bringen. Mit kurzen Umsteigezeiten werben, dafür Geld kassieren und die Passagiere dann im Regen stehen lassen, das scheint das Geschäftsmodell dieser Gaunerfirma zu sein. Die Umsteigepassagiere wurden auch nicht auf den nächsten Anschlussflug umgebucht sondern flogen erst am frühen Morgen weiter. Das eigentlich durchgecheckte Gepäck durften wir selbst aus- und wieder einchecken (1 Stunde am Gepäckband gewartet!), und dazwischen mussten wir uns X Stunden auf dem Umsteige-Flughafen langweilen. Einen mickrigen Essensgutschein, der gerade für einen halben Snack gereicht hat, gab's erst auf massives Insistieren hin. Am Ende kam ich eine Nacht später am Ziel an als geplant. Die SWISS weigert sich, das Hotelbett zu bezahlen, das ich wegen ihrer krummen Zusatzgeschäfte und der daraus erfolgten nächtelangen Verspätung nicht benutzen konnte! Von sich aus keinerlei Entschuldigung, und die Reklamation wird mit Verhöhnungen der Kunden beantwortet! Nie wieder SWISS! PS. Vor einem Jahr flog ich mit Cathay; auf Wunsch eines anderen Fluggastes wurde ich im Flieger um zwei(!) Sitzreihen auf einen absolut gleichwertigen Sitz gezügelt, und die Cathay hat sich von sich aus und ohne jeden Anstoss meinerseits mit einem 80$-Gutschein bedankt...

"greatly disappointed"

Trip Verified | Tokyo to Zurich. For a 11 hour flight we were greatly disappointed with the comfort of the aircraft. The seats were hard and stiff. When the passenger in front of you would lower their seat the top of the seat would literally be so close making it impossible to reach under the seat or use the folding table comfortably or even to stand up and walk of your seat. The seats were so close together that half of the time passenger next to me would lean on over my seat. During the trip I felt pressed down on all sides and didn’t have a lot of room to relax and I’m a very tiny person. The food was good and the movie options was nice but would not fly this airline again.

"problem with her video system"

Trip Verified | I took a morning flight from Zurich to Tel Aviv, a modern Boeing 777 with personal video on every seat, comfortable. The planed departed on time and everything made me a good impression at the beginning. They didn't use the air conditioner at the beginning when people go into the plane and despite the cold weather outside is really hot and suffocating inside. During the flight I ask for a tea, the flight attendant told me Its going to take a lot of time because they are serving cold drinks, at the end she did not bring the Tea. We were sitting with the meals after we finished for more than 45 minutes. At the end I took two finished meals with myself to the galley and one of the flight attendants said to return to the sitting place with the meals and wait for the recollection of the meals. My daughter had a problem with her video system, the flight attendant told me she will solve the problem but she did not solve anything and my daughter could not use the system.

Trip Verified | As my daughter is getting ready for a language immersion program this summer, travelling for her first time internationally, on her own I made a change to her itinerary with United, as we used United to book her flights of which part are with Swiss Air. To confirm seats Swiss charges a fee, which was paid for all (4) Swiss legs of the trip. The UA change eliminated one of the legs to reduce her number of stop overs. United helped us with this change, when contacting Swiss to ask to refund the $50 for the assigned seat, the agent 1st said that that was out of policy and refused to allow me to speak to a supervisor. I am stuck paying $50 for a seat on a flight which we are no longer using that is almost 3 months out? As I have been booking flights for my entire family to spend time in Europe, the booking experience and this event with Swiss is by far the worst of the experiences I Have been encountering. It's not about $50, it's about doing the right thing for the consumer.

"Overall a good flight"

Trip Verified | Brussels to Bangkok via Zurich. Overall a good flight, with good, clean aircraft and friendly, courteous and professional service. The flight was delayed, by 30 minutes, from Brussels due to 'late incoming aircraft' (the classic excuse from airlines). This made transfer a rush at Zurich and Swiss did nothing to help. The entertainment on-board was good, with a bunch of recent films and series available to keep us entertained. The only issue was the time it took the crew to serve the meals. It took them, literally, more than 2 hours to serve dinner. If it was a restaurant, we would have left. however, as we had good entertainment, it was not that bad. Other than that, a good flight.

"5 kg more luggage than allowed"

Trip Verified | Stuttgart to São Paulo via Zurich. I know it's my fault to have 5 kg more luggage than allowed however I am extremely unsatisfied with the cost for 5 kg extra - 150 euros for 5 kg extra. I decided to pay. I could agreed with 50 euros, but 150 euros is a huge exploration.

"Poor customer service"

Trip Verified | London to Moscow via Zurich. Poor customer service. Booked the flight back in Feb for trip to Russia. 20 days before the flight, I have been notified there is a change of schedule just in email, as the original plan has been cancelled. The new schedule does not fit into my plan so have to cancel it, waste the money on hotels, local bookings etc While I do understand these things happen for airline, when contact Swiss, I have been told it will take them 4 weeks to process the refund in the form of voucher. Excuse me, are you serious! You change the flight and took the money immediately when booking, then when refund it takes 4 weeks to give me your voucher!
