"Never flying this airline again"

Not Verified | We were flying on March 21, 2022 from Maui to Honolulu at 1.30 pm. It was a very hot day and my 8 year old daughter was very thirsty. The water fountain at gate 13 was broken so I told her we get water in the plane. It was a 30 minute flight so I knew there wouldn’t be service during flight. We were at the back of the plane, it was completely empty and I saw a male and female flight attendants at the back, 4 seats away from us. They were boarding the front of the plane. My 8 year old went to asked the lady for water very politely and she turns to my kid and says "No, sit down" in a very rude way. My kid came back so I went and asked the gentleman if he could please give me some water for my kid. He literally reached in front of them on a cart and gave me a blue can of water. I said to the lady, "my kid just wanted water and it was right in front of you, that was mean" she followed me to my seat and said something, I said the water was right in front of you. She raised her voice and said "Do we have a problem here?" At that moment I figured she wanted to get a reaction out of me, maybe to kick me off the plane so I said "no, no problem, I’m sorry". Never flying this airline again. Inhumane to a child that all she needed was a cup a worker.

"the only bad thing was really the seating system"

Not Verified | Me and my family got rebooked to Southwest because Spirit got cancelled out of nowhere (and we are never flying Spirit again) but anyway the treatment was good and the wifi was good but the only bad thing was really the seating system where it’s first come first serve meaning everyone just chooses their seats upon boarding the plane. Everyone in my family was spread out and sitting next to random people and it was good besides that.

"No apologies, no explanation was given"

Not Verified | My nonstop flight at 3.50 pm Sunday March 13th from Dallas to Tulsa was cancelled 24 hours before flight time. I received an email which I later found meant no text notification. They auto booked me for 10.00 pm flight, then was delayed two hours, which puts me getting home at 1.30 am. No apologies, no explanation was given, weather is one thing but cancelling a fight because you didn’t sell enough seats is terrible customer service. Especially when I’ve been a loyal client for decades. I was really disappointed with this company. Way too many delays and cancellations in the past year. Covid is over and no longer an excuse. My time is way more valuable than buying an inexpensive plane ticket. I will be finding a new carrier when my points and funds are gone. So sad what’s happening to them. Will not recommend anymore.

"savings are not worth the absolute madness"

Not Verified | I’ve flown a minimum of once a month with Southwest for the last year. At this point the savings are not worth the absolute madness the yo-yo delays and last minute cancellations cause. This airline has far too much uncertainty for anyone depending on reliability. Unless you are super flexible with departure and arrival time (by hours or days) , don’t waste your time and sanity on Southwest.

"Terrible airline and terrible customer service"

Trip Verified | Completely cancelled my flight less than 2 hours before departure. Not even a single delay. Have asked for a refund multiple times and they have just sent two vouchers which I do not want to consider since I will not be flying with this airline again. Have tried contacting through email, Twitter, and Facebook - no response unless it’s a robot. Have waited on the line multiple times. Once they hung up after I said hello and the second time I had to hang up after 2 hours to go on with my life. Terrible airline and terrible customer service.

"cabin crew was very nice"

Not Verified | I never book flights on low cost airlines with very high hopes. It started when I got to the gate, the staff was nice and they are enforcing very strict COVID rules, something very important in these times. Before long we were boarding, which was surprisingly easier than with other airlines. You got to choose your seat, which was nice (as long as your preferred seat wasn’t already taken), and the taxi and takeoff was smooth and uneventful. Once we had leveled off, the cabin crew came around with drinks and snacks, and while their selection was a little limited, I understand why they can’t have a vast array of refreshments. The cabin crew was very nice, and while there was no in flight entertainment, I don’t see that as a factor that lowers the experience value because it’s just so easy to bring your own entertainment on board these days. Our descent, landing, and taxi were smooth, and once we got to our gate, I exited the plane feeling refreshed at the experience I had just had.

"been on hold on the phone for 3 hours"

Not Verified | First customer service rep I called couldn’t help me and told me my flight was delayed when on the app and text message I received said it was cancelled. She told me she doesn’t understand why that’s happening and gave me another number to call. I have been on hold on the phone for 3 hours and still currently waiting for my call to be answered. My flight was cancelled 6 hours before we were supposed to leave. Not only is this incredibly inconvenient, but there are no flights going out until Wednesday night. A handful of other airlines are leaving Indianapolis and going to fort Meyers. Maybe if southwest stopped overbooking their flights, they wouldn’t constantly get cancelled and be blamed for “bad weather.”

"go to great length to please anyone"

Not Verified | I have been flying Southwest Airlines from the early 80's until now on and off. The reason I don't get to fly often is due to my work situations. However, when circumstances allows me my first choice is SWA. For the first time my experiences with SWA my flight was cancelled by Air Traffic Control few days ago. I called SWA support to ask any flight out of MCO in the next 24hrs, and got the next day flight out from MCO. The person who helped me bent backward to find me a flight, even though it took me out of the way and longer time. This is the service you get even you are not a frequent flyer. Southwest Airlines go to great length to please anyone.

"What has happened to this airline"

Not Verified | Horrible! What has happened to this airline? We were supposed to fly at 9:30 yesterday. Delayed to 4:30. Then 9:30. Then cancelled. Forced to pay for a hotel in Orlando. Scheduled to fly today at 10:05. Already delayed which makes me doubt we make our connecting flight. So stressed.

"Will not use this airline again2

Not Verified | Worst experience I've ever had on a plane. Flight was 1/2 hour late taking off when captain and stewards shut down flight to accommodate a panicky customer. We wait another hour, prepare to de-ice and take off when another customer needs something out of the cargo hold. Flight shuts down again. Customer reps come aboard to relay that all connecting flights are cancelled because there's no way to get there in time. Chaos ensues as half the plane de-boards. A single customer service rep, who has no idea what she's doing, attempts to coral all fifty passengers and fails. What a waste of three hours of my time. Poor communication, time and customer management. Will not use this airline again, don't recommend them.
