"plane was uncomfortable and very warm"
Laura Binkley (United States)
Don't book with Norwegian if it is just for the Boeing 787. Received a text 2 days before our travel to say we would instead be flying an Airbus operated by HiFly from JFK to Copenhagen (no rationale). We did have the option for a refund however 48 hours before all other flights are very expensive. I booked this flight and airline just because I could reserve an exit row seat for my husband who is 6'11" which was no longer his seat reservation. In addition the flight left 1.5 hrs late with essentially no updates from the staff. I also found it odd that the flight was operated by Hi Fly attendants not Norwegian. There was no inflight entertainment, plane was uncomfortable and very warm (had to be 76-80 degrees), no air controls to adjust - made for a long night and tired next day. They did not weigh our carry-on which I stressed about and was sure to stay under the weight limit. My experience for international travel seems very common, unfortunately I didn't read the reviews first. I would have to assume Norwegian doesn't own enough Boeing 787's for the flights they are booking.

" would use again and recommend"
S Bos (United Kingdom)
Ticket prices excellent for last minute. I found the Norwegian Boeing 787 spacious, clean and very comfortable. The cabin staff were friendly and professional. For those of you that have never flown Norwegian longhaul take note, when you book on their website it gives you a choice to order a meal, it is a low-cost longhaul carrier. I witnessed several complaints onboard but the website clearly states several times you must pre-order if you want a meal. For a low cost longhaul carrier Norwegian have really exceeded my expectations. Good inflight entertainment, good attitude of staff. The only request I have is to introduce wifi on the 787, because this product is great but with wifi on longhaul you will put legacy carriers to even more shame. Would use again and recommend.

"lack of customer service unacceptable"
Linda Gregory (United States)
I have flown Norwegian several times from JFK to Stockholm. The prices have been fine as has the food on the flights. However the Lost and Found Department for the airline is nonexistent as far as I can tell. I have called 11 times since I left an article on my flight to JFK. Not one of the calls has been returned or acknowledged in any way. I would have emailed the airline directly rather than writing a review, but no email address is available. I find this lack of customer service unacceptable and unconscionable. I will continue to call the airline about my lost article, but I have no reason to think my call will be returned. This total failure has jaded my once favorable view of Norwegian.

"prices were great and flight times/dates"
Randee Flor (United States)
My husband and I were taking his dream vacation to Norway. We felt Norwegian was the best airline for the job. The prices were great and flight times/dates worked wonderful for us. They were on time, the food was good, the attention inflight was excellent. I bought the economy sits and we upgraded the day of the flight. This was a difference in pricing and very affordable. My husband is 6"7 so he is a big man and this upgrade was perfect for him. The only complaint I had was that in our hast to leave the plane after the 11hr flight i forgot my IPad. I know this is my fault not the airlines. We live in San Diego so after the flight we had to get a rental car and drive 2 more hours. By the time I got home I had noticed the missing IPAD. I looked and called for hours to get through to someone so I didn't loss my pad. The information center was opened but could not help me in anyway. They keep telling me that I had to talk to LAX lost and found (which was automated). Finally the next day I talked to a lady on the 1-800 number, she said the same thing as the last guy. She finally gave me a number to the operation for Norwegian. I then was able to talk to someone and they did indeed have my Ipad in the office. So I was able to drive back up to LA on Sunday and pick up my property. It was a happy ending. I just wished they had a better way of contacting the agency that is working for the airlines. So long story short, turned out to be a wonderful vacation. Thank you Norwegian Airlines.

"no help if your flight is cancelled"
Myrna Klassen (United States)
After a 6-hour delay our flight was cancelled. Norwegian has no US partners and so is unable to assist in rebooking with another airline. They offered a full refund or a 75% refund if we went on a flight with them on a leased airplane 2 days later. The full refund would only cover a fraction of the cost of a last minute flight on another airline. We opted for the re-scheduled flight. The leased plane was an old plane with narrow seats that did not recline, no airvents, PTV screens, and no amenities for our business class fare. After arriving home, and doing the proper paperwork and resubmitting parts of it again and again, they were refusing to refund the 75%, saying the flight cancellation was not their problem. We had a text that verified their promise, and so they finally relented. Do not expect any help if your flight is cancelled. You are on your own.

"what a disaster we had"
Jacqueline Bartley (Spain)
Travelling Gatwick to New York on the 24th July, what a disaster we had. We were told to book in at 2:30 even though the flight was to go at 6:30, so when still not booked in at 5:30 I get a text saying we are delayed till 9:30. Then another text saying 10:30. At 11:30 we were told to go to information (the first time airport staff had talked to us) we were then told that we had to find a hotel (but that they were all full) and come back at 2:30 the next day. We where then sent back through Gatwick to collect our hold bags. The next day was no better, two more delays with no information as to why. Then told there were only blankets and ear phones for premium class, no hot drinks/snacks.

"decanted from plane at 3.30 am"
1 reviews Peter Cremin (United Kingdom)
Passengers spent over 23 hours at Gatwick while Norwegian messed about. Their subcontractors at Gatwick knew nothing - there aren't actually any Norwegian staff at Gatwick - it is a ghost airline run by phone from Norway. The highlight was being decanted from a plane at 3.30 am because there was no food and the captain refused to take off without it. Avoid at all costs.

"stranded for several days"
Rosemary Lane (United States)
When things go wrong, they go really wrong. Norwegian flight from Copenhagen to Gatwick cancelled for "operational reasons" after check in and then delay posted on flight information board. Then when I rechecked - "cancelled". Found our way to huge line in transit section. Finally got to counter (they are served by an agent - not Norwegian staff) and rudely told I had to call the airline to find another flight. I said I had no international phone - too bad - use a pay phone. Got through and told there was not flight on any kind of connection for three days! They have no relationship with other airlines to rebook on anything else. Then sent to pick up my bag - and walk 1/2 mile to another huge line to get information on accommodation/expenses etc. - and there we sat for 3 hours - with no information while 2 people at a window dealt slowly with people. Finally, word came down the line that there were "no more" hotel rooms in Copenhagen ie. none that fell into their price range. You could either go by bus with them to Malmo (Sweden) or find your own hotel and be reimbursed sometime later (at 1,000 Kr per person per night - good luck with that) - if you produce receipt. They only pay hotel and breakfast! As one woman with a family pointed out, she had no more holiday money left - what about other meals and expenses (too bad they said). I chose to go back to the city and sleep on a sofa - had friends who were still there for another 2 nights, but was going to have to find a hotel for night 3. Next morning I got on the website and found a connection through Stockholm a day earlier than the airline said there was availability - had to call them on international cell phone to get switched. Finally arrived back 2 days late - and to add to the story, they lost my luggage for 24 hours. I have put in a compensation claim for 250 euros per person as per EU law. So, bottom line - the flight is fine if it goes okay, but expect to be stranded for several days if your flight is cancelled or you miss a connection.

"great value for a cheap price"
Christopher Kenton (Norway)
Norwegian again offered great value for a cheap price. Their planes are new and flashy compared to many more expensive airlines, which meant that I got a comfortable journey at a lower price. Free WiFi connectivity onboard was great and a huge plus. They also offered in-flight entertainment through WiFi. I used their phone service to rebook the flight and it was efficient.

"there wasn't a kids option"
Tanya Gass (United Kingdom)
We travelled Premium from Gatwick to Los Angeles as a family of four in August 2015. On the way out, it was pretty good : clean, comfy seats, food ok. Films and TV ok if a bit limited. However on the way back, the crew were really sullen and unhelpful. I was travelling without my husband on the way back, so had to look after my two boys on my own. The boys were offered lobster pasta or chicken curry. I asked what the kids option was and they said there wasn't one. I made a bit of a fuss about it so they went into Economy to get some revolting corn dogs and hash browns. They didn't offer the boys any bread or a second drink. They didn't offer me wine - they forgot. I asked for a glass of water but had to ask 3 times because they kept forgetting. One of my sons TVs stopped working an hour and a half before we landed but despite saying they would rest it, they didn't do that. They were noisy in the galley area during sleep periods. My other son was dripped on by the air con for 30 mins, but the stewardess said there was nothing they could do about it. There were wine stains on my seat and I couldn't get the foot rest down.
