"first impression of Norwegian was positive "
H Pyner (United Kingdom)
My first impression of Norwegian was a positive one. I checked in no problem at Gatwick, the flight left on time and arrived at JFK 45 minutes early. The flight was very comfortable and I’m not sure if it’s the size of the plane but I barely felt any turbulence at all and travelling to New York can sometimes be quite rough. The staff were friendly and food was nice enough, you got to order on the interactive menu which I think is a great idea. Be warned that cash is not accepted so travel with a credit card if you will order more than your 1 drink and meal. The Boeing 787 is a nice plane, much larger seats and the dimming windows are good. Norwegian seem to have an issue with the 11pm flight out of JFK to Gatwick. One of my family members was travelling on this flight on Tuesday 8th Sept and she received an email to say it had been cancelled due to technical issues. They did offer to move her onto the next day’s flight at no additional cost or to put her on a flight back with HiFly. 4 days later and it was my turn, I received the same email to say that my 11pm flight from JFK had been cancelled due to technical faults and offered the same options. When I asked if I could be moved onto the next day’s flight I was told that it wasn’t possible and they could offer me a flight 4 days later! Due to work commitments that wasn’t possible so I had to cancel my return leg and book with Virgin to get me home by the scheduled time. The refund (one leg of the journey) will take up 2 weeks to reach my account which isn’t ideal as I’m now £750 down having to pay out for my new flight. The customer service team were good, offering to refund my flight with no issues. I would not fly with this airline again or recommend it.

"plane Wi-Fi worked excellently"
5 reviews Herman Koevstad (Norway)
Oslo to Preveza with Norwegian. The boarding went smooth. The cabin was new and fresh and had new recaro seats. The cabin crew was wery friendly and helpful. The seat was comfortable, but had too little legroom. After the takeoff the crew went through the cabin with food and beverages for purchase. The plane had Wi-Fi and it worked excellently. We landed on time at Preveza Airport.

"6 days and still don't have my belongings"
Tatyana Simpson (United States)
This flight was apparently canceled for 3 days in a row, yet it was open for online booking. Once I arrived to London I realized that there was bunch of people stranded in Gatwick trying to leave to LAX. Finally they said that it "may depart in the morning but it will be delayed by 5 hours". I had to sit at the airport until 5am. Front desk agent and supervisors had no idea what was going on and instead of accommodating people said that there were no hotels left for the night and that we have to sit at the airport. Since they had mechanical issues with the plane and it couldn't be resolved for 4 days, they went ahead and put us on some kind of Omni Air plane. The plane was old, and some seat covers were torn . When we made it to LAX it turned out that they never shipped my bag and it was still in London. It's been 6 days and I still don't have my belongings.

"punctual, professional and not pricey"
Todd J Cooper (United Kingdom)
I was not expecting a lot from a budget airline which Norwegian is, however I was pleasantly surprised. The staff were helpful and as courteous as more expensive airlines which I have flown. The plane was clean, the seats were as comfortable as needs be for a two hour flight. It is definitely a no frills airline, however one exception to this is the free wifi. Uploading an instagram picture at 37,000 was definitely a first. There was a slight delay getting off the plane in Barcelona, however this was as I understand a fault that was beyond the control of the airline. I would definitely fly with Norwegian again. They were punctual, professional and definitely not pricey.

"Boeing 787 was new and very nice"
K Foley (United States)
The cost was great and we saved 200$ on each ticket for a family of 3 to London. The Boeing 787 was new and very nice. The seats are a bit hard, but the lighting and luggage space is good. The staff were rude and unhelpful. Since you have to buy food, if they are serving those passengers and you ask for water, they can be quite rude. The flights were delayed on both ends - London to LAX was delayed 2.5 hours. Will I fly it again - really not sure.

"no accommodation ... total confusion"
Tom Murto (Finland)
Norwegian flight from Helsinki to Madrid on 11th September delayed by over 12 hours. No advising passengers of passenger rights. We eventually received coupons for food but no arrangements for accommodation or rerouting. It was total confusion because no Norwegian staff were on location, only airport staff.

"worst delays ever for a short break"
R Bell (United Kingdom)
Gatwick to Madrid on Norwegian and worst delays ever for a short break - 2.5 hours late leaving, 6 hours late returning. We have used Norwegian to fly to Scandinavia and thought they were pretty good, but I'll not choose them again.

"I would definitely recommend them"
M Levinson (United States)
I was hesitant about flying Norwegian, described as a discount airline, for the first time. I was very pleasantly surprised. I chose Premium Economy, and it felt like being in business class, especially in legroom and how far the seat reclined. Even with the extra cost of Premium Economy the price is very reasonable. I would definitely recommend them.

"never fly with Norwegian again"
Greg Russell (United Kingdom)
Our flight was cancelled on 7th September for technical reasons. No hotel offered, but we can submit a claim for refund for cost of hotel. Passengers that went to airport did get a free hotel overnight at Crown Plaza with free meal voucher and transport from/to JFK. Next day check in was meant to commence at 5.30pm and staff arrived at 5.45pm. Plane left at 9.30pm. 1.5 hours later than stated. Plane was not a Boeing 787 but narrowbody Boeing 737. Totally unacceptable. As we boarded we weren't sure where we were to stop for refuelling. The plane was uncomfortably hot. Food not great. Cabin staff were fine though. Landed in Edinburgh at approx 9.30am for re-fuelling. They left open door for fresh air. Landed in Gatwick just before 11am I think. I would never fly with Norwegian again, after this experience.

"I really liked inflight entertainment"
3 reviews Igor Faynshteyn (United States)
We chose Norwegian initially because it turned out to be the cheapest transatlantic and within Europe flight, and we flew Norwegian 4 times in 2 weeks (NY-Stockholm; Stockholm-Munich; Prague-Copenhagen; Copenhagen-NY). 3 of the 4 flights were timely and we arrived to the destination even earlier than planned. One flight (Copenhagen to NY) was delayed by about 3 hours, but landed only 1 hour late in JFK airport. We flew the Boeing 787 twice, both transatlantic flights. It's a very nice and efficient aircraft. The seats are about average width and so is the leg room. I found the seats a little more comfortable than on other airlines, but the difference is not significant. The service was standard. If there is one minor complaint I have about the staff, it is that when I was waiting for the delayed flight out of Copenhagen to NY, I was pretty sick with a fever and the flight attendants who were sitting near me were pretty loud and I couldn't relax and rest. Everyone else in the waiting area were quiet and the only loud noise was coming from them. I thought they should have been a little more courteous to their passengers. Otherwise, they were good during the flight. The one thing I really liked was the in-flight entertainment. It had all the recent top movies, some games, a lot of different types of music and more. Of course, this is a relatively new airline and aircraft, so this is expected. The one thing I didn't like about Norwegian was that you have to pay $50 extra for seat selection and checked in luggage. I think this is deceptive marketing, because they initially attract you with their low price, and then you find out that you have to pay $50 more (unless you are not checking in luggage and don't care about seat selection, in which case it's a good option). But even after another $50, it's still cheaper than the competition. Hence, it's not a big negative on the airline. All in all, I liked the airline and would fly it again, especially if the prices remain reasonable.
