"business on a budget"

(United States)

Norwegian Premium class is business on a budget. If you are looking for a bigger seat to attempt to sleep you will be okay with this airline and the price. If I had read more reviews I would have known to bring my travel pillow, socks and amenities - they have not handed out toothbrushes for some time according to the steward that I asked. I saw some crumbs and trash between the seat and windows weren't clean. One positive element is the cabins are not stuffy. The staff is robotic and loud. And my foot rest did not extend as shown so I used extra blankets to pad. As long as you expect little you will be fine with the meals, but no bottled water offered, so bring one from the lounge. Allow extra time to get from and to Gatwick, it's a hike and congested!

"young and enthusiastic staff"

(South Africa)

Remember, Norwegian is a budget airline. So how did it fare on my trip from New York to Copenhagen? First easy to book online, easy to choose extras and easy to check on progress of flight. At the airport super smooth check in from personable staff. Lounge at New York is managed by Korean Air and was adequate. Slight delay in boarding but kept informed. Comfortable seat, footrest too short, blanket but no pillow or amenity kit. Great, young and enthusiastic staff. Food ok. Entertainment first class. On time arrival. So if every flight is like this and for the fare they charge it cannot be beat. Highly recommended.

"close to a real business class"

(United States)

I read the reviews of Norwegian premium economy and have to laugh at some criticisms. This is as close to a real business class as you will get for 50% less money. The seats go back, way back. As much as 90% of any business class seat there. They can make an improvment in the fold out leg extender as it doesn't go out far enough to improve comfort. The new Boeing 787 is awesome. For the money you just can't beat the experience.

"sort out online check in"

(United Kingdom)

Norwegian must sort out their online check in arrangements. To only be able to check in on-line 24 hours before departure is inconvenient, in that the return journey cannot be done at the same time as the journey out. For someone travelling with only cabin baggage this is ridiculous. I spent a fair amount of time of my last morning in Malaga trying to check in online, and I was eventually advised that online check in was not possible and I had to check in at the airport desk, as did everyone else. The result of this was that the vast majority of passengers who were carrying only cabin baggage were obliged to join an hour long queue with those wishing to check in hold luggage.

"cabin service was very good"

(United States)

London Gatwick to LAX with Norwegian. Plane left 25 minutes late but arrived in LAX on time. The engine noise is less than older planes. The windows are fun but the sun can still be annoying as they do not darken completely. Tip - flying to the States choose a seat on the right side of the plane to avoid sun glare, and vice versa for the return trip. The cabin was a little grubby. The cabin service was very good and prompt. The food comes in a box and was not very appetizing. The seat was ok but the footrest is virtually useless. It is not easy to climb out from a window seat to use the lavatory. The movie selection was ok - the music selection is very good and their 'mix tracks' are well compiled. Good value for a budget airline.

"entertainment didn't work"

(United Kingdom)

Having paid extra as a treat for my family we travelled in Norwegian's Premium Class, the first time we've managed to afford to travel above economy so this was a special occasion for us. The Boeing 787 aircraft are nice and new of course. My entertainment system didn't work which was disappointing on a long flight and quite frankly I was bored for hours. The crew sympathized with me but the plane was full. They told me to contact customer services and they would make it ok with a goodwill gesture, probably reward points which was ok. Customer services took a long time to reply and the message is basically tough luck, we have no legal obligation to give you anything and then amazingly 'we look forward to welcoming you onboard again soon'. I guess that says it all.

"change flight it will cost you dearly"

(United Kingdom)

Booked a Norwegian flight earlier in the year on the Boeing 787 to get the best possible price. Paid £1,045 without meals to fly October 11th 2015. We needed to change our flight to 1 month earlier and online showed seats were available. Then went through procedure to change our flights and the extra cost was £573. For those who wish to fly on the Boeing 787 it is a wonderful aircraft with many good features. Legroom is ok but the seats don't seem to be wide enough. Please be aware if you need to change your flight, it will cost you dearly.

"impressed me on outbound sector"

(United Kingdom)

Norwegian really impressed me on the outbound sector of the flight. The Boeing 787 is an impressive aircraft, quiet with noticeably cleaner more humid air. The check in process was efficient and quick and boarding was handled well. The food is overpriced but was edible. The return flight was so bad I couldn't believe it was the same airline. Flight delayed by 45 mins at the gate, but no information given. Once boarding complete the cabin crew started moving my baggage in the overhead lockers without any care being taken to avoid damaging my luggage. Food was served the middle of fairly serious turbulence. My tray was bouncing across the table. Senior cabin crew spent a lot of the flight in the galley on their mobile phones. During turbulence towards the end of the flight many passengers left their seats and the crew made no effort to have them return to their seats. While advertised as low fare, the huge cost of the baggage and food on USA flights can mean they are the same price as full service carriers.

"would not hesitate to fly Norwegian again"

(United Kingdom)

I was on the verge of fearful after reading some reviews of this airline but this was groundless. The Boeing 787 plane was comfortable and clean and the staff were wonderful. The often mentioned lack of headphones/blankets/water etc was not an issue as I provided them myself without it being too inconvenient. I had opted for a meal, but in the event fell asleep and did not eat on the plane so cannot comment on that. My biggest example of the cabin crew going the extra mile was the fact that my young daughter has a propensity to airsickness, and having flown with Virgin, BA, Etihad, American and United amongst others, their assistance has ranged from pretending not to notice to an ineffectual "oh dear" with no practical assistance or offering of extra bags or wipes etc. The Norwegian cabin staff member who noticed and helped was sympathetic and concerned and did all he could to alleviate our distress. He seemed really bothered for us and worried for my daughter, he did not make us feel a bother as has often been the case in the past. My only very small issue was the fact that we were delayed by an hour; in itself only a small irritant but the lack of information and sporadic, mumbled "information" announcements were rather frustrating. Also check in took some considerable time with only three desks being open. This however was not related to the flight. I would not hesitate to fly Norwegian again and recommend them to others, in fact I did so already today. To me this does not appear to be a "budget" airline in that the experience was no different to any other airline I have flown and considerably better than some.

"experience with Norwegian was great"

(United States)

After reading previous reviews, I was terrified of booking Norwegian but no one could beat that price ($1500 for two, Los Angeles to Stockholm, return, with meal and luggage, all included) and so crossed our fingers and booked. Our plane, a Boeing 787 Dreamliner was new, the entertainment system worked and there were no problems at all in-flight. At LAX our luggage took about an hour to be taken onto the plane, but I don't blame Norwegian, I blame the ground system at LAX. In Stockholm everything went flawlessly. We booked our vegan meals in advance and it was some of the best food I had on a plane. That said, keep in mind that this is a low cost airline. I'm European so I know exactly what that means. If you are not familiar with the concept of low cost and want more comforts and extras, book with some other airlines and pay double the price. For us the experience with Norwegian was great and I was able to see my family again at a price I could finally afford.
