"experience exceptionally good"
J Wong (United States)
The Norwegian experience was exceptionally good. We booked the tickets with luggage check in but no food option or seat choice. A new Boeing 787 and the seat was pretty comfortable. The movie selection was not bad. It even came with USB charging port. The flight attendants were really nice. My daughter had swollen legs and they came by a few times to get us ice and see if we need anything. The check in process was pretty quick in both LAX and Gatwick Airport. The food option was quite expensive. I would rather get food from airport. The only complaint I have was that the flight was pretty warm, it would be better if they turned the cabin temperature down.

"definitely fly Norwegian again"
J Howell (United Kingdom)
London Gatwick to New York JFK return. Booked my flight 6 months before flying, and paid extra for checked baggage but declined seat choice and food option. Received several emails advising me of changes to my flight times. Luckily they were only minor changes (+/- 20mins). Once confirmed that I'd read and agreed to the flight changes, I was sent amended e-tickets. The day of my outbound flight dawned and I received a text on the way to the airport wishing me a happy flight and letting me know times/booking details. Online check-in not available for international flights, which is a shame but not too much of an inconvenience. Got to the airport 3.5hrs before the flight departed. Check in was quick and easy. All window seats were taken but friendly check-in staff put me in an aisle seat with an empty middle seat next to it (luckily this remained empty). Boarding was done by seat rows, and completed in an orderly manner. Flight took off about 10 mins late. I can't fault the in-flight experience. The plane was a new Dreamliner. Clean, bright and airy with effective air conditioning and apparently, more oxygen to help with jetlag (I don't really get jetlag so can't confirm this). Touchscreen entertainments system was great. Lots of movies/TV/music to choose from. USB socket to charge your phone/tablets etc. Staff friendly. As I hadn't opted for an in-flight meal, I took some sandwiches and snacks with me. I also took an empty litre bottle through security and filled it up airside. No pillows supplied but had my own neck pillow. Blankets are available for a fee (£3) but I have my own fleece travel blanket so took that. Headphones can also be purchased but it's a standard single-pin, 3.5mm jack socket so any headphones should work. Uneventful flight landed at JFK ahead of schedule. Return flight experience much the same. Took off an hour late due to an issue with the baggage conveyor belt, but made up time in the air. Very glad of my fleece blanket as it did get a bit nippy at times. Landed about 20mins late but from parking at the gate to getting picked up at the pick up/drop off point took 25mins (including passport control and baggage collection). I would definitely fly Norwegian again and would recommend it to people wanting to get to the US on a budget. Judging by the rest of the comments, you've just got to cross your fingers and hope you're on the 10/10 flights!

"Norwegian was great"
C Evans (United States)
After having seen some worrying reviews of Norwegian I was nervous having booked a flight from LAX-LGW to see family. I have done this journey so many times in my life knew how bad a delay or rough flight can be. I was close to cancelling my ticket and paying the extra few hundred to fly with a more reputable airline on this route. I'm so pleased I didn't. Norwegian was great, service wasn't amazing but no worse that any I have experienced in the past. Norwegian is very middle of the road (for want of a better expression). Food is ok, entertainment is ok, leg room is ok. There's nothing amazing. If you want an airline that will get you there with the exact same service as the other airlines, its a no brainer'. Tips: Just watch their flight times from LAX, departure requires you to get to the airport at 5pm. Arrival means you also land at 5pm. Book food in advance. Bring your own headphones. Grab an exit row seat. Seriously consider getting in on the premium, its as good as Virgin Atlantic or United Airlines.

"return flight was okay"
Norman Sheldon (United Kingdom)
The outbound flight was delayed 2.5 hours, the reason given was that one of their planes was stuck at Tenerife South and their engineer was joining our flight to get there. The annoying things were that the explanation was garbled, apology was minimal and the complimentary drink was not explained as to choice. One cheap drink for a two and a half hour delay which resulted in us missing our paid for evening meal at the resort. That flight had old seating with limited leg room. The return flight was okay, better than the first as the seats were new and the leg room a bit longer. I understand that airlines have problems, but I then expect them to react in a positive proactive way to their customers and show greater generosity. The flight was part of a Tui holiday package, so I have no idea what the flight costs were.

"would definitely recommend"
D Jubber (United Kingdom)
Flew with Norwegian last year to Greece and was pleasantly surprised with this supposedly low cost airline. I had never heard of Norwegian before, I booked to fly this year to Los Angeles and was amazed by the comfort of the plane and the free inflight entertainment. We would definitely recommend to anyone to fly Norwegian and we can't wait to book another trip with them. There was nothing low budget about them. Yes you have to pay for those extras but then you pay in the long run if you fly with the larger airlines and you also pay a larger price for your flight to begin with.

"thank you for everything"
Jasmine Dubbini (United Kingdom)
Gatwick to Copenhagen, and many thanks to the Norwegian crew! That were very kind to me as I was scared and crying. They gave me coffee and water to help me, made me sit with them and even arranged for me to meet the pilot after landing to talk and be reassured for the future. Lovely crew, and thank you for everything.

"many thanks to the crew"
Maz Taylor (United Kingdom)
Travelled with Norwegian on 13 October to Tenerife. Comfortable seating with good leg room. En route my husband became very unwell and needed medical help and oxygen. The staff coped very well with what was a very frightening situation, reacting calmly and professionally. He has an ongoing serious illness, but made a good recovery on the plane with no more trouble. Many thanks to the crew who were so kind and concerned, we were so greatful.

"an excellent service"
Philip Jowett (United Kingdom)
Stockholm to Oakland (San Francisco) with Norwegian. My first time on the Boeing 787, very impressed, we booked premium, its an 11:30 flight time and I am well over 6ft, used the included lounge at Stockholm which was basic but adequate, boarded on time and departed just 3 minutes late, arrived into Oakland and on stand 5 minutes early. We were first off and through US homeland security in minutes, onto the airport monorail to catch the bay area subway to the city. Checked into our hotel just 70 minutes after touching down, way easier than SFO. The flight over was excellent and my only grumble is that the legrest doesn't extend far enough, but I slept well and lots of movies to watch. The food was a big positive surprise, good in both quantity and Quality, I don't mind the food in a box so long as its good. Our return flight was from JFK to LGW, the schedule is 23.59 so only just a Friday flight! We left about 30 minutes late but arrived 35 minutes ahead of schedule into LGW due to strong tail winds. Overall an excellent service and very good value if you can book early enough, the flights were full both ways.

"pleasantly surprised with Norwegian"
Chris Thomson (United Kingdom)
I was a bit dubious about flying Norwgian from LGW to JFK after reading some reviews. As soon as we were informed of the gate at Gatwick the process was very smooth. The plane was a modern Boeing 787. It was clean, tidy and spacious with big windows which provide an amazing view. The seat was ok for economy standards and did the job. Inflight entertainment was good with plenty of choice. It is worth purchasing the in flight meal - food was pretty good for airlines. The plane arrived on time to JFK - it took a while to get to stand but that is an airport issue not a Norwegian one. The return flight was on the same level as the first - the plane wasn't as clean as the outward flight but all in all it was ok. Return flight went far quicker due to prevailing wind. I was pleasantly surprised with the Norwegian service from LGW to JFK after reading the reviews on here.

"exit row seat, good legroom"
Derek Salter (South Africa)
Copenhagen to Berlin Schönefeld with Norwegian. This time in economy and a short flight. Slight delay in leaving but quick boarding and time was made up. Exit row seat so good legroom. Seat hard so glad it was only one hour. On stand and used stairs with short walk to terminal. A big shed! But bags quick and easy walk to buses for Berlin. Staff pleasant. Less convenient than Berlin Tegel airport but next to the new Berlin - when that opens!
