"crew were very welcoming"

A wonderful experience with Norwegian from Gatwick to LAX. The crew were very welcoming and couldn't do more for us. My husband had a funny turn - the crew were straight by his side and made sure he was comfortable and kept checking on him throughout the flight. Economy seating was good. I read reviews before I went and some of the comments were not great regarding the prices of food etc. I can only assume as its a low cost airline this is why they charge for headphones etc. We brought our own and also brought our own food as you have to pay extra online for a meal. I overheard a lady next to me complaining about the prices of food - but we brought our own as we knew it was going to be a long flight. Entertainment is excellent, all new films. No onboard wifi which was fine, I don't see that as a necessity. Would absolutely fly Norwegian again, cheapest tickets I could find with great customer service. Smooth journey. No crazy announcements like other airlines every 5 minutes. Very modern aircraft with great features and films for the kids as well as adults.

"happy with what we paid for"

We read the reviews about Norwegian, but we prepared ourselves for a 7 day trip to London from LAX that we packed everything in a backpack. It never weighed more than the 10kg and met the size requirements. This also allowed us to go straight from plane to sightseeing in London once we arrived. We bought food and took onboard. They offer free movies, music, and games on their flight, but you have to buy a headset $3 or bring your own for Free use. The legroom was fine for me. We arrived early into London which was a bonus. On our flight home I ordered some food on the menu. Paid $10 for a Grilled Ham and Cheese and $4 for a CoCo Water. Little bit pricey for the sandwich, but still wasn't the $40 that I would've paid for the prepaid meal that also came with a breakfast which didn't look like much. But my order did come out quickly. And as other reviewers mentioned you can't order until 2hrs after the Pre Order folks have been served. There is an audio announcement. This time I kept my headphones from the hop on hop off bus and had free audio for the Free Movies. At London if your bag looked oversized they did weigh it. But in LAX and in LGW we never had our bags weighed. My daughter had a medium sized duffle bag that was stuffed and they didn't bother to check. Overall we were happy with what we paid for. There is nothing hidden and we are flying Norwegian again in April to see another European destination because the prices are great! And our flight back to LAX was also early.

"customer service horrific"

Norwegian seem ok. Fare price for traveling between popular destinations. It does sound like a really good deal, until something untoward happens. Having my flight cancelled from Berlin back to the UK and being rescheduled 4 days later I had to find alternative accommodation and flights back to the UK. My rights entitle me to be refunded for hotels, food and travel between when my cancelled flight was and when the new one is booked. Luckily for myself and Norwegian I found a new flight the following day to return, but this meant a stay in a hotel, in Berlin. A month after applying for my €147.00 refund, I had heard nothing from Norwegian, so I emailed. Still nothing. I telephoned, and spent over an hour waiting for them to answer on a premium rate number, now that is like £60 isnt it in phone costs? So basically I have now doubled the costs that Norwegian owe me trying to find out about this situation. After the hour on hold, I was told by a customer service assistant that no one was assigned to it yet and probably wouldnt be for a while, but didnt know when and they were still dealing with things from August! I asked to escalate this and was told "to fill out a form online". Norwegian customer service is the most horrific I have dealt with, if you go with a cheap airline then they cut corners somewhere, and this appears to be where Norwegian focus their cuts.

"they didn't disappoint"

London to New York with Norwegian. It was the second time I flew with Norwegian and they didn't disappoint. The entertainment on board is up to date, with new releases, the seats in economy are good and even without ordering food in advance the toast was good (and not incredibly expensive). For me, the key aspect is they are punctual.

"crew were warm and welcoming"

It was a pleasant experience. I was surprised by the Wi-fi on board which worked well. We weren't served food free on board, but we could choose and buy from the menu. The crew were warm and welcoming. The seats seemed comfortable to me. Norwegian is a cheap airline, but while everything was simple, it was acceptable. Or as my wife commented "it was Scandinavian".

"Norwegian is cheap"

Norwegian is cheap, that is the benefit and the reason I use them. I have stopped using them from FCO to LGW at they have been late on every occasion and the arrival time can be after midnight. The onboard menu is limited. The attitude of their crew is indifferent at best. In my opinion their crew rate as the worst of low cost airlines. If you want a cheap flight use them. Apart from that if you care about service and hospitality, don't.

"good value for money"

We (family of 4) flew from Copenhagen to Fort Lauderdale and back. The Boeing 787 had good space between seats in economy and plenty of space in the overhead lockers. We had no problem finding space for carry-on luggage. The touch-screen in each seat provided a medium selection of movies, including a few premier movies. Also had music and a few games (chess a.o.). All movies were free of charge. The downside: We had per-ordered food. When we were served, the announcement went out, that people who had not per-ordered would have to wait 2 hrs if they wanted to buy food. Most of the staff seemed quite uninterested in the well-being of the passengers. Overall though, it was good value for money.

"good for the price you pay"

If you manage your expectations like we did, your travel experience with Norwegian should be a good one for the price you pay. I paid £45 return to Budapest, travelled with cabin case and bought a drink during the flight. I therefore avoided the nasty problems you can get with baggage handling damage and delays. Automatic check is a real plus. Norwegian communicate updates with texts and emails which is good. We had a slight delay due to technical issue but everything else was great. Professional staff on-board. I have travelled British Airways and others and Norwegian offers no lesser service that these airlines, other than good ticket prices. I could have given 10/10 but for the airport authorities who to me are stern and they know they will get paid regardless. Manage your expectations and travel light.

"ticket was a good price"

The ticket was a good price, relative to others. I found Norwegian website easy to use. There weren't any hidden charges. The self service checkin (even for hold baggage) was quick and easy. The boarding process was orderly. The aircraft looked new and was comfortable. Flight attendants were all female, polite and helpful. I had a beef stroganoff for 8EUR on board, which was surprisingly good. Their coffee was Nescafe instant, which isn't so great. They have Wifi on the plane (which works OK, but not stellar), and an inflight entertainment system delivered over Wifi, so you can watch their movies on-demand on your tablet or phone. They also played a variety of charming and quirky cartoons (which have the capacity to amuse adults and children alike) on the ceiling mounted TVs. Those cartoons really were great, that was a real surprise. I have to say I would select this airline by preference based on that overall performance. Very satisfied customer.

I flew on Norwegian from Milan to Oslo with our 4 month old daughter and whilst the cabin crew were satisfactory, we were very disappointed to receive our buggy smashed and broken at baggage reclaim. Not only did we have to wait over an hour in the queue to have a damage report filled out but weren't able to use the buggy on holiday. When we returned to the UK we followed the complaints procedure and had to write a letter send by post wait 8 weeks, only to be told that Norwegian do not hold any responsibility and would not pay for the damage. Just to warn anyone considering complaining - this is a waste of time and everything has to be sent by post. Very disappointed and out of pocket plus all the hours wasted trying to get damage caused by the handling.
