The 6-Star Airline rating and 7-Star Airline rating
categories are not currently utilised by Skytrax, but are under
continuous review to prevent potential misuse or copying of World Airline Star Rating by third parties.
Commenting on usage of 7-Star and 6-Star Airline ratings, Skytrax CEO, Mr Edward Plaisted said "we have set the highest Star Rating bar at a 5-Star
status for many years now, but to avoid any confusion with some of the lightweight, alternative airline ratings that appear on
some websites, and maintain full integrity and status of Skytrax Airline Rating, this is a subject that is assessed on an ongoing basis. The quality
requirements to meet a 5-Star Airline rating are constantly reviewed, and we currently believe the high standards we have set will ensure this top-rating group
of airlines will retain it's ultimate exclusivity. We never say 'never' in our organisation, and therefore it is always a possibility that the 7-Star and 6-Star Airline ratings
might be launched in the coming months."
