Japan Airlines Passenger Seat Tip : 9 March 2008
Economy Class : Boeing 777
Some 777 on Japan Airlines still have entertainment system boxes under some seats. Along with the
footrest, this can really limit leg/foot room.
The following seats on 777 have the inflight entertainment box set underneath.
Row 21B/E/J, Row22 33/A/D/K, Row34D/K, Row 45B/J, Row 46A/E/K, Row 47&57A/D/K, Row 58A/D
Japan Airlines Passenger Seat Tip : 23rd October 2007
Economy Class : Boeing 747-400
Row 77H,C - are aisle seats on the upper deck exit row. Loads of leg room. 77A, K are window seats
in that exit row also good with the extra storage in the window compartments. Sitting in any of the
other rows on the upper deck espc window seats would feel somewhat claustrophobic with the tight
legroom and narrow seats. Main Deck - 51C or 51H exit row by the galley. Again great legroom.
AVOID 51A and 51K - the bump at the bottom of that exit door seriously cuts in on your legroom.
Note JAL seats are narrow and seat cushion is not the most comfortable. I'd recommend bringing some
kind of padding esp on those longer flights like NRT-JFK
Japan Airlines Passenger Seat Tip : 6th August 2007
Business Class : Boeing 747-300
On two-class 747-300 aircraft, Seats 1 a/c and 1 h/k are the best in the cabin. Leg room is
unlimited, and cabin service starts at the front, working back. Although overhead bin space is
limited, you are very close to the forward cupboard - so you get priority access to cupboard space
for storing your gear.

Economy Class : Boeing 747-400
Japan Airlines economy class upper deck row 71 is not an emergency row seat but is first in
row with no seating in front. Most upper deck seating also has more space located at window
side with a small compartment for small bags. The service is more personal in upper deck as
the seating is limited. Request these seats early as they are great!
