United Airlines Passenger Seat Tip : 22 March 2008
Airbus A319 - Economy Plus
Row 6 at the front of Economy plus - the partition wall does not go all the way to the floor. You
can still put bags under the first class seats ahead of you. Plus the wall angles away from you at
the bottom to give more leg room.
United Airlines Passenger Seat Tip : 19th August 2007
Boeing 757 - Economy Plus
Other people have recommended Row 9 because of the good leg-room, but I can tell you, as an airline
crewmember, we get most temperature complaints from occupants of Row 9, which is next to the leaky
entry door and is therefore about 10 degrees cooler than the rest of the cabin. If you sit in Row 9,
bring an extra layer of clothing you can put on.
United Airlines Passenger Seat Tip : 9th May 2007
Boeing 777-200 - Economy Plus
Row 17 is at the front of economy plus. The middle 5 seats have around 50 inches seat pitch - you
have to get up to get your magazine! whilst the window seats have around 38". Row 30 is at the front
of economy has around 50" seat pitch as its right behind a Type A door, however, these window seats
have no windows. All these seats have arm mounted trays however.
United Airlines Passenger Seat Tip : 25th April 2007
Boeing 737 - Economy Class
If you want a window seat, do not sit in Row 6. This row on either side of the plane does not have windows.

Boeing 747-400 - Economy Class
46B,46C or 46H,46I are exit aisle seating with plenty of legroom. The seat next to the door
does not have good leg space due to the bulky door. 59C or 60C and 59H, 60H are nice as
usually you get two seats to yourself or at least only one passenger adjacent to you. Ear
plugs are a must for sleeping.
United Airlines Passenger Seat Tip
Boeing 747-400 Business Class
Upper Deck Row 15. The best - lots of extra legroom and storage space because of the
emergency exit. Seats : Main Deck Row 25 Seats C,D,F are best - lots of extra legroom due
to the bulkhead. Note all bulkhead seats are NOT equal and Row 6 is poor. Boeing 777 Seats
: Row 8 - forward C cabin has only two rows - feels more private than main C cabin.
United Airlines Passenger Seat Tip
Boeing 757 - Economy Class
The best seats in coach are 8DE. The standard configuration on this plane is 3 and 3, in
this Exit Row, there are only 2 seats. To the right of 8E there is a large space on the
floor next to the door, which works out great for extra storage space during the flight.
United Airlines Passenger Seat Tip
Boeing 777 Business Class
Forward business cabin (rows 7and 8) is much quieter and better service. Beware of 777
business seats in E column as they are in the middle and hard to get out of your seat when
everybody is reclined.
United Airlines Passenger Seat Tip
Boeing 757-200 : Economy Plus
If you are flying Boeing 757-200 try to get seats 9 A,B, or C - right at the entrance of
the cabin and extra legroom.
United Airlines Passenger Seat Tip
Economy Plus - Boeing 777
Star Alliance Silver and Gold members travelling on economy-tickets can be upgraded to
Economy Plus, a separate part of the economy cabin with more legroom, occasionally they
also upgrade others under certain circumstances. The two or three first rows on the right
side are used for crew members, better seats there. Seat 30 A/C and 30 H/J in main economy
are emergency exit seats, 4 meters legroom and better personal screens.
United Airlines Passenger Seat Tip
Economy Plus - Boeing 777
On select 777 aircraft, the first 2 rows of Economy plus seats on the "right side" of the
plane have leg rests and deeper recline than rest of Economy plus.
United Airlines Passenger Seat Tip
Economy - International Boeing 777
The two economy front seats on the right side of one of the two international
configurations of the 777 are not available for passengers. These are part of flight crew
seats on this configuration. They have leg rests and greater recline. Occasionally the
seats become available when a flight is overbooked. But in general, this seat is not
available. On the international configuration without economy plus, flight crew area is
further back and the 4 side seats are all the same. These seats are the most desirable, as
they have more leg room, but they do not have the leg rests and deep recline.
