Air Canada Economy Class Flight Review Montreal to Athens
DEPARTURE SERVICE
The check in was made online via the Internet. I had a great choice of seats - despite that I
paid extra for seat in a row of an emergency exit. The processing for the baggage check-in was
normal in Montreal, and in Athens was fast.
CABIN APPEARANCE
The aircraft used for this route was an old Boeing 767-300ER, but the aircraft was in good
shape, the cabin clean and in a good condition.
SEATING COMFORT
I enjoyed my seat because it was in the front of the aircraft and these seats were former
business class seats - larger and are more roomier. The rest of the cabin the seats were
normal economy class. The seat configuration in front was 2x2x2 the rest of the aircraft was
2x3x2. The seats were not equipped with personal TVs, , because this aircraft is use only for
leisure routes.
ONBOARD CATERING
The meals weren't good. The presentation look like it was a low cost meal. The coffee was
served in a Styrofoam cup. The breakfast was only a muffin and a yogurt - not even served in
at least a box or a plate. On the return flight, half way through we had a bag of crackers and
ice cream, and at the end of the flight we had only a small hot wrap. All the drinks were
free.
INFLIGHT ENTERTAINMENT
The inflight entertainment was poor, and didn't work properly. The aircraft wasn't configured
with up to date inflight entertainment equipment, unlike most of other aircraft.
CABIN STAFF SERVICE
The crew wasn't the best. There was not a lot of interaction with the passenger, except for
one of them on the return flight. Announcements were made also in Greek on the return flight.
The service was not the best. A passenger next to me had an issue about his carry on baggage.
A flight attendant took it to store it in a closet in the galleys, but it ended up to be in
the belly of the aircraft.
FLIGHT ARRIVAL
The deplaning went fast for the both ways, because of my seat in front. The passport control
in Athens took time but my baggage arrived before I got through. The passport control in
Montreal didn't take long, but my baggage took a while to arrive.
CUSTOMER TRIP VERDICT
This was not my best flight. Overall I wasn't impressed - the service onboard leaves to be
desired. I wonder how come Air Canada was voted the best airline in north America by providing
such a service or an entertainment like this. For the same price, I would rather have a
connecting flight with an airline that has better standards.
