Alitalia Economy Class Flight Review Boston to Rome
DEPARTURE SERVICE
Staff were very slow. Alitalia uses Terminal E, and it appears they employ younger more
immature contracted Swissport staff. Lines were long, slow and took forever. Security was
swift and the gate area was crowded.
CABIN APPEARANCE
Flew on Alitalia's newest A330-200 in the fleet. The cabin was clean, seats were very
comfortable, and with brand new IFE Screens.
SEATING COMFORT
Economy Class seats were comfortable. Leg rests, new IFE, very nice.
ONBOARD CATERING
I've always found that it's a hit or miss with the catering on Alitalia. This was nothing to
write home about.
INFLIGHT ENTERTAINMENT
The inflight entertainment was excellent on this new A330 aircraft.
CABIN STAFF SERVICE
Typical Italian efficiency - they disappear after the meal and re-appear an hour prior to
arrival. No water passed out during the flight, however when you rang they appeared with the
usual.
FLIGHT ARRIVAL
Rome Fiumicino Airport is a nice airport, and customs went fast as did baggage delivery.
CUSTOMER TRIP VERDICT
For the only non-stop flight from Boston to Italy and the money, you get what you pay for.
