DEPARTURE SERVICE
CO Check-in desk cheerful and helpful. Informed me that flight was delayed due to snow
at EWR. Airport staff clueless as to location of CO check-in desk, directed me to wrong
desk.
CABIN APPEARANCE
Clean, new, neat.
SEATING COMFORT
A bit chilly, seats are standard economy recliners. Becomes uncomfortable after 8
hours. Seats can be very uncomfortable for tall passengers. Standard uncomfortable
economy seats.
ONBOARD CATERING
Terrible. Worst meal I've had aboard CO EWR-PEK route. Was shocked; vegetarian meal not
enough food for 13+hours. Noticed it was a Chinese caterer not usual Joya veg meal.
Dinner incl. a packet of margarine but nothing to butter (!), was given a dry plain
piece of bread with a few boiled slices of vegetables as a sandwich, dinner was burnt
lump of white rice, literally 2 pieces of green leafy veg, a few slices of pepper in
sweet tomato sauce. Was starving for most of the flight, had to ask FA for an ice
cream. Unacceptable. I do not expect a gourmet meal, but virtually starving for
13+hours including waiting at the gate while delayed is not acceptable.
INFLIGHT ENTERTAINMENT
Look forward to the variety of TV programs and recent movies available on personal
video system.
CABIN STAFF SERVICE
Very friendly, accommodating, helpful.
FLIGHT ARRIVAL
All baggage arrived intact. No transfer and no problems deplaning.
CUSTOMER TRIP VERDICT
The lack of food on the flight was a shock and simply not enough for 13+hours flight.
Meals missing bread and not served as many snacks & desserts as other passengers. Cabin
clean, FAs in good holiday mood and helpful.
