VLM Airlines Economy Class Flight Review Eindhoven to London City
DEPARTURE SERVICE
Slightly bizarre this time as the screens said check-in desk 19 but 17 and 18 were
open. Otherwise a speedy transit through the airport. On-line check in didn't seem to
be working properly.
CABIN APPEARANCE
The cabin was clean. No complaints!
SEATING COMFORT
The seat pitch is quite good on the Fokker 50s and the seats are comfortable.
ONBOARD CATERING
The sandwiches have gone downhill - just a single slice of ham in a buttered bap.
Boiled sweets were handed out before takeoff and a Belgian chocolate halfway through
the flight, which was very welcome!
INFLIGHT ENTERTAINMENT
Not applicable.
CABIN STAFF SERVICE
Crew were friendly as usual. There was a toddler on the flight and they did their
utmost to help when he was having problems with the turbulence.
FLIGHT ARRIVAL
We were parked at the very far end of London City airport so had to be bussed back to
the terminal. It would have been quicker walking. The baggage took a surprisingly
long time to arrive too.
CUSTOMER TRIP VERDICT
The flight was great overall and the VLM staff good as usual. It's a shame VLM is
losing its identity to CityJet, which will probably see the demise of the unique
service VLM provides.
