Turkish Airlines Business Class Flight Review New York JFK to Istanbul
DEPARTURE SERVICE
Check in at TK Business counter was efficient although not overly friendly. BP/Lounge passed issued and
we were on our way thru security and to the KAL lounge - okay lounge. self serve, free alcohol, dirty
carpets and worn furniture.
CABIN APPEARANCE
Cabin appearance - either you love or hate the TK color schemes. My wife commented she thought she
walked onto the set of Golden Girls. Cabin/Lav's were in good order/cleanliness overall, although the
window was dirty (inside the cabin)
SEATING COMFORT
Despite that the seats are angled lie-flat I found it to be fairly comfortable in all positions.
ONBOARD CATERING
There has been much positive press regarding TK's Do&Co. catering. I found it mixed. Dinner - the
appetizer cart was delicious with about 6-8 different mezes. I chose the lamb chops for my entree with
were too dry. Dessert cart was also a nice touch.
INFLIGHT ENTERTAINMENT
Very poor in my opinion. Small selection of Hollywood based movies. Small selection of
programming/sitcoms. Screen is large but image quality could be better.
CABIN STAFF SERVICE
Was expecting much prior to the flight, however I was disappointed upon experiencing it myself. J Class
cabin was 100% full. Meal service was efficient and pleasant however it was nothing special and English
skills by most of the cabin crew was not up to par. After meal service most of the FAs disappeared in
the galley.
FLIGHT ARRIVAL
Deplaning was quick & painless in IST. FastTrak immigration for business class passengers. My bag was
the last bag to arrive on the belt.
CUSTOMER TRIP VERDICT
Overall I had much higher expectations for Turkish Airlines, especially in the service/catering realm.
Their business product was good, although the IFE was par at best. I never truly felt "welcomed" or
"special" as a passenger. They did however get me from point A to point B in one piece and on-time!
