CARIBBEAN AIRLINES : FLIGHT REVIEW |
|
|
|
|
DEPARTURE
Waited half an hour to check in because the business class check in was taking passengers from the
economy line. Staff at check in counter were courteous though. Lounge was empty, but had a good
selection of premium drinks, however poor choice of food with only dinner rolls and small desserts
available.
CABIN
Dingy, dull, horrible red wine colour of the seats and washed out red carpet. The headcovers are the
same paperlike material used for economy as are the pillows. Seats showing wear and tear
as the covers were falling off and my drink tray took much effort to pull out of the arm rest.
SEATING
Seats were somewhat comfortable with good recline, however in the first row (1A) found the legroom very inadequate and felt sorry for
passengers in rows 2-4 as seat recline would surely disturb them.
CATERING
No choice for appetizer (Garden Salad), my main course was a small steak with what seemed to be
potato wedges and steamed vegetables, Dessert was chocolate swirl cheesecake. The meals were
presented well, however you still get a plastic tray with chinaware on it. The meals themselves were
tasty, minus the salad which was horrible.
INFLIGHT ENTERTAINMENT
No personal IFE systems, and one movie which was in poor choice
CABIN STAFF SERVICE
On boarding, the purser was to busy on her phone to welcome be aboard and just pointed to my seat.
The other flight attendant seemed pleasant but very impersonal. However after take off the purser
redeemed herself with exceptional service, addressing me by name which was a nice touch. However she
seemed a bit flustered when asked for a glass of champagne during the meal service.
FLIGHT ARRIVAL
Nothing to really speak of. My bag however did take a while to be offloaded for a business class bag.
CUSTOMER VERDICT
Caribbean Airlines has all the makings of a good business class product, the inflight service itself
is good in most areas - a revamp of the cabin itself and maybe the cheaply printed
menus and they will be on par and even better than other carriers who service the Caribbean-North
American routes.
