TURKISH AIRLINES: FLIGHT REVIEW |
|
|
|
|
DEPARTURE
Check in was delayed due to computer problems. Staff seemed exasperated and lacked confidence in
the system. This does not provide confidence for passengers
CABIN
Cabin very clean and comfortable. Staff were on hand for any additional requests if asked
SEATING
Seats nearly flat and reasonably comfortable. I managed around five hours sleep and did not wake up
feeling like I had an uncomfortable sleep
CATERING
Two dinner choices offered. My choice (chicken) was quite tasty. FA's served various courses and
removed previous course with efficiency, however didn't seem to care if the meal was okay.
Breakfast before landing was unattractive and had unpleasant taste - virtually inedible except for
the fresh fruit. FA offered additional drinks without enthusiasm
INFLIGHT ENTERTAINMENT
Not a great selection available: a few current movies, classics, kids and documentaries. Does not
even come close to competing with other airlines' entertainment offerings. Significant problems
with system frequently resetting itself. Generally poor system
CABIN STAFF SERVICE
FA's were available if needed, however were often surly. Generally poor English skills and treated
Turkish passengers differently by engaging in conversation and basic pleasantries.
Questions/statements from FA's were often barked, although this may be caused by language skills
instead of approach to customer care. I was told to complete a health form with the statement
"Start writing now". FA's seemed to lack customer care skills
FLIGHT ARRIVAL
Business passengers allowed to deplane first. Baggage arrived on carousel when we reached it,
however this may be caused by delays in immigration, rather than speedy baggage delivery -
difficult to assess.
CUSTOMER VERDICT
Good value for money in terms of business service. The major let downs are the attitude of the FA's
and their poor English skills. Service standards are lacking in several areas. Overall an
acceptable flight but TK are lacking in several areas compared with competitors. Three star
experience only.
