DEPARTURE
Check in was very fast but my special seat reservation wasn't considered and the ground crew member
didn't seem very interested and wasn't really friendly. There was a 2 hour delay on the flight and
absolutely no information was given to passengers which really agitated me. Limited information was
given when asked regarding a technical problem with the aircrafts hydraulic systems.
CABIN
Boeing 777-200 was used which was in good condition with clean carpets and seats. The cabin,
however, doesn't have a very warm or inviting atmosphere. Everything appears very bland, sterile
and outdated.
SEATING
Seats are quite wide and very comfortable with a reasonable recline. However, there is no
adjustable headrest which does help a bit with sleeping. Minimal legroom though made the whole
flight very uncomfortable.
CATERING
My special meal was delivered very promptly but quality was dismal. Prawns served were very hard
and extremely spicy whilst dessert was dry and unappetising. Meal trays are very small and the
arrangement of the meal isn't interesting.
INFLIGHT ENTERTAINMENT
PTV was very small and pixellated. A broadcast system is used on economy aboard this aircraft and
the selection isn't grand - I preferred to just watch the Airshow and read a magazine throughout the flight.
CABIN STAFF SERVICE
Cabin crew are very friendly but they do not interact enough with passengers. their presentation is
good and their uniform is quite nice. besides being shown to my seat and offered a meal and a drink.
FLIGHT ARRIVAL
Late departure and late arrival with only one apology from the captain. I almost missed the cruise
that I had booked because of the extensive delay. No ground assistance on arrival except from
Singapore immigration who moved me through fairly quickly.
CUSTOMER VERDICT
Overall a very disappointing flight in all aspects. Even though cathay pacific is a five star
airline, that standard is very confusing in this case. I expected more and sadly, I got a lot less.
