DEPARTURE
Dublin airport is overcrowded and expensive but check-in was easy and friendly. Immigration was
cleared in Dublin so with several American flights going out within a short time, the queue was
nearly an hour. Once through, the flight was called and we boarded quickly.
CABIN
The cabin was plain grey, very dull but clean.
SEATING
The standard was average but the leather seats were comfortable. We had enough space but as the
flight was only half full, we all had three seats per two people.
CATERING
Lunch consisted of Chicken with potato wedges or Vegetable Lasagne. Also there was a salad and
roll. The roll was very heavy and dense and I could not eat it but the chicken was fine. We were
given free soft drinks off two different drinks trolleys and more was available from the galley.
Alcoholic drinks were five euro or seven dollars each.
INFLIGHT ENTERTAINMENT
Entertainment was poor with screens dropping from the centre of the aisle, every five or six rows.
Picture quality was variable but it was watchable. Headphone to actually here the program were
available for five dollars each.
CABIN STAFF SERVICE
Cabin service in economy was surprisingly good. We had a mature lady looking after us who took a
particular interest in my five year old daughter. She was bubbly and friendly and I was so
impressed with her, I have emailed US Airways. This email was personally acknowledged by customer
care within 30 minutes. Not an automatic reply.
FLIGHT ARRIVAL
With no immigration to complete, we had our luggage and were gone within 40 minutes. Customs gave
us a cursory glance and wished us a good holiday
CUSTOMER VERDICT
For 400 euro each, the flights were basic but perfectly ok. We were looked after and are flights
actually arrived early. It would be nice to have AVOD or even the flights progress on the screen
but none were available on this 757.
