Airline Flight Reviews


DEPARTURE

Was booked on a 777. Reasonably efficient but a little slow due to staff training. Only small line so both economy and business class passengers were attended to. Non Asiana staff at check in at Sydney airport. I much prefer to have the staff serve me but no complaints.


CABIN

Spotless, fresh and modern. My first time on international business and was not disappointed. Plane appeared to be quite new and well maintained. Toilets were also very clean and had numerous fragrances for passengers. Flowers an excellent touch!

SEATING

Supportive seat and generous recline in business class. Day flight so didnt fully recline the seat but for 10 hour flight it was adequate. For those in experienced in business it does take time to work out how to get the best from the seat controls.


CATERING

Quality of the meals I can only describe as outstanding and at times the food was too plentiful. If I could make one point it would be that serviing fettacini with the stroganoff wasnt ideal and was difficult to eat and easy to spill. Perhaps stick with pasta shells or rice to complement outstanding meat. Loved all aspects of the food, and the vegetables were pefectly cooked. Five star catering.


INFLIGHT ENTERTAINMENT

Asiana needs to improve their IFE. Movie choice extremely limited, no hard rock options on the CDs also limited my options. Improvements in the IFE towards Emirates or Singapore standards should see Asiana have a more international clientile that isnt mainly Korean. For shorter haul no problem, and perhaps the lack of decent hollywood films contributed but this needs to be upgraded.


CABIN STAFF SERVICE

True warmth provided by the cabin staff. I have not seen this level of service on any other airline apart from Singapore on occassion. They really care about their passengers, are super efficient with requests of drinks and snacks. I noticed that they assess the situation and needs and react accordingly rather than being robotic.


FLIGHT ARRIVAL

Had some issues with the transfer due to the language barrier again. No boarding pass but they were quick to check my passport details. Lounge in Seoul was very impressive and had a relaxing hour prior to connecting flight.


CUSTOMER VERDICT

First time on Asiana and extremely impressed with the service. The whole experience was relaxing, pleasant and I enjoyed watching the service staff interact with passengers and react to their needs. Plenty of smiles and warmth that makes a great flight even better. Asiana is to be commended for their staff! Only let down for me was the IFE but this is an area I am sure Asiana will address and improve on.
