DEPARTURE
Excellent service at LHR no wait, friendly staff. At CDG AF put transit passengers in a car a
sped them to connecting flights after the LHR flight was delayed. Good service.
CABIN
Cabin is clean as 777-300 has recently been upgraded. Condition is good but slimey remote control
and ptv screen had to be cleaned with my complimentary hot towel (actually a wetwipe). Stench from "feather" pillows. Sent it back only for it to be replaced with another
sweaty smelling pillow. I would rather a clean synthetic pillow.

SEATING
Poor. Cramped seating plan on recently refurbished 777-300 with a 3x4x3 configuration and about 28"
seat pitch (no kidding, a previous reviewer compared it to Ryanair which I didn't believe until I
experienced it myself) Very little recline but good headrests which really stay put once you've
adjusted them.
CATERING
Food is not bad out of Paris, though certainly no reason to fly AF over any other airline, they give
you a little menu which seems to be a waste of paper and talks up the rather standard economy class
food you receive.
INFLIGHT ENTERTAINMENT
Extremely poor. One would think with cramped seats there would be decent IFE on this newly refit
plane but no, just 12 movies all of which seem to have been selected by a teenage girl. Hugely
disappointed when IFE breaks after 2 hours of 11 hour flight however AF has given air miles in
response to complaint.
CABIN STAFF SERVICE
Excellent level of service the only good thing I can say about AF is that I found their staff to be
excellent at all times both on board and at the airports.
FLIGHT ARRIVAL
All bags came back on time despite tight transit times. Was surprised at how well they coped
considering the connecting flight to Paris was 40 minutes late leaving just 30 minutes for them to
get my bags onto the Tokyo flight.
CUSTOMER VERDICT
Overall AF could have been excellent as their staff are very well trained and a huge asset and it
seems this is the hardest thing for an airline to get right, however, the fact is that AF have been
lazy with the IFE provisions and have been mean with the seat pitch. These two factors make it
extremely difficult to recommend them as a longhaul economy option.
