DEPARTURE
Efficient at Gatwick as we had the Premier Deal which meant Premium check in amongst a few other
'luxuries'. Had pre-booked seats so no chance of arguments and naff seating arrangements by ground
staff. Cancun was a little unorganised but this was because transport had informed us incorrectly
about procedures, queues etc.
CABIN
Cabin was clean but look dark and dismal with the navy blue leather and general age of the
aircraft. Clean toilets and all were working as far as I know.

SEATING
Seats were very uncomfortable because of the padding. Your bum soon felt it two hours into the
flight. Very impressed with the leg room, I'm 5'11" and had about 3" knee space before hitting the
seat in front - the width was very bad, I am quiet broad and so was my travel companion, if
I was in the middle of the plane I would had big problems with sleeping, eating and general comfort.
CATERING
The food was excellent, very tasty sausages and gravy (the usual) but they were tasty. The return
meal was excellent, it was chicken and pasta in a very tasty sauce. They have got the
catering right to the best the budget will allow.
INFLIGHT ENTERTAINMENT
I upgraded and the choice of music, films, TV programs and games were
very good and entertaining. The only complaint I would say is that the system wasn't very reliable.
It kept getting stuck and some of my families screens gave up the ghost completely.
CABIN STAFF SERVICE
On the flight out I thought the staff were poor. This one particular stewardess would keep knocking
my arm and shoulder very forcefully as she thundered down the aisle. It must have happened about
five times but only with her. She had a very bad attitude and looking back I wished I'd said
something. The flight back the staff were better, all were efficient but no smiles from most of
them.
FLIGHT ARRIVAL
Deplaning in Cancun was swift and baggage no problem. However, deplaning at Gatwick we had to wait
about five minutes just in front of stand as no ground staff had switched on the gangway guidance
system. Once parked up, engines went off, no air conditioning plane got very
warm and stuffy.
CUSTOMER VERDICT
I flew Thomas Cook last year in the Premium section and had a very good flight. Comparing the two I
would say they are very similar but what I have learnt is that when flying a low cost airline I
think I shall always fly up front. Premium isn't luxury by far but what it does do is give you the
room you would expect when travelling cooped up like sardines in a metal tube. To summarise cheap,
squashed, good leg room and food. Would like to try their premium next.
