DEPARTURE

Conakry is said to be one of the more difficult airports to navigate so my company arranged a facilitator. As a business class passenger I was therefore allowed to go directly through immigration to the small business lounge where I was served one free drink while my check in formalities were completed.


CABIN

The Airbus 321 has a small business cabin with seats in a 2-3 configeration. It was evident that deep cleaning of the cabin had not been undertaken for some time. However it was acceptable.


SEATING

The 2 seats are on the right side and 2A is the front row. Seats are very dark blue leather covered; slightly larger than in economy


CATERING

The flight involved two legs. I light meal was served on the one hour flight to Dakar and a more substantial 3 course dinner featuring a very good civiche starter and choice of two mains was offered on the longer flight to Abidjan. I had roast beef and was again impressed; by far the best I have been offered in the region. Reasonable selection of drinks.


CABIN STAFF SERVICE

Smart appearance, smiling and eager to please with one dedicated to the business cabin. Regular top ups of drinks offered during the flight. French is the working language but the cabin crew spoke English to a reasonable standard and told me that it was company policy all crew do so.


FLIGHT ARRIVAL

I was transiting to Accra on this occassion and the airside transit desk was open and issued my onward boarding pass. They did not however the pass I needed to access the business. Once this was resolved I was entitled to two drinks as I waited to connect.


CUSTOMER VERDICT

By West African standards a good service and a more reasonable price than many competitors. Food a particular plus, even more so the flight reached Abidjan early.
