DEPARTURE
Check in at Chennai was orderly and quick. Despite the crowds the check in staff attempt to be
polite and courteous. Immigration as in all indian airports was chaotic with winding lines and
inefficient staff. AI has its own lounge at the airport which is well staffed and furnished.
Boarding was chaotic with no priority boarding for business class passengers.
CABIN
An old tired and tattered A310 with torn cushions and greasy windows.
SEATING
Spacious with plenty of legroom and wide seat pitch. There are no induvidual screens, but one grainy
overhead screen.
CATERING
Catering is fantastic with a three course meal served from a trolley. Good portions and staff
very generous with alcohol which is of the highest quality. Presentation needs improvement.
CABIN STAFF SERVICE
Excellent. Very courteous and concerned, and willing to make conversation. All helpings were topped
up (including drinks) with a smile. Safety demonstartion was done well.
FLIGHT ARRIVAL
Good. Immigration in Changi was quick and efficient. My baggage was out before I entered the arrival
hall. Ground staff courteous.
CUSTOMER VERDICT
Average with the human element out performing the amenities that need to be provided. Air India
desperately need new jets to beef up their service.
