DEPARTURE
Air India hire Aeroport de Paris check-in staff who are rude, incompetent, and have no clue as to
the airline's frequent flyer programs with Lufthansa, nor did they know that Air India business
class passengers have access to the Air France lounges at CDG2.
CABIN
The cabin on the upper deck has the upgraded 165 degree shell style seats. The cabin on the leased
Korean Air 747-400 was neat and tidy. The lavatories had virtually no amenities, except for what
looked like a heavy duty liquid soap more suited to cleaning the lav, rather than one's hands.
SEATING
26 angled lie flat seats in shells on the Upper deck. The seats when reclined are not very
comfortable and the leg rest does not go high enough. No dividing screen and no PTVs.
CATERING
No welcoming drink. The bar service started far too late into the flight - it took the FA nearly an
hour to set it up, but once it did, it was quite good. The meal is offered all on one tray and very
poorly presented. The Indian entree was delicious, but everything else was mediocre at best.
CABIN STAFF SERVICE
Polite, but otherwise unengaged. My drinks were always topped off. There were 3 staff members
working the upper deck, one of whom was a new young recruit. She looked harried throughout the
flight.
FLIGHT ARRIVAL
My baggage was lost. I can't blame AI, however, as AF misplaced it in Barcelona where my connecting
AF flight originated. However, AI located it within 24 hours and had it delivered to my door.
CUSTOMER VERDICT
Reasonable value for the money if you don't go in expecting a posh Business class service.
Improvements needed throughout - seating, food, amenities, entertainment are all either mediocre or
way behind the times.
