DEPARTURE
CDG departure was chaotic as Terminal 2C is simply not wide enough to
accommodate departure gate
crowds and passengers for other flights milling about.
CABIN
747-400. Old configuration, tired looking interior. One is not at all "wowed" by the prospect of
spending 11 hours in this first class cabin!
SEATING
Compared to First class seats on competing airlines, AF's old config seats seem antiquated. While
they go flat, there is no personal privacy, and to make matters worse, the seats were dirty and in
need of an overhaul.
CATERING
Meals were OK-ish, but a far cry from offerings on the competition. The food was fresh, well
presented, but lacked excitement. This is disappointing for a French airline, which should pride
itself on culinary innovation.
CABIN STAFF SERVICE
Very impersonal, no smiles, no welcome, nothing to make one feel like a premium passenger. The
staff did not respond when called,, which is annoying! The captain did make the rounds though,
which is always a nice touch.
FLIGHT ARRIVAL
Arrival at SFO is a breeze, and coming from CDG, really anything is an improvement!
CUSTOMER VERDICT
This was a disappointing flight viewed from the perspective of the front of the plane. Cabin crew
seem disinterested, the food is palatable, though not exceptional, and the seats and interior are
extremely average. There is better value on other carriers.
