DEPARTURE

CDG airport is always a nightmare, but at least they try to keep the terminal E somehow updated. Some nice stores and cafes. Too many people boarding too many long-haul flights. Hopefully the new E terminal will be reopened soon.

CABIN

Not the newest but the oldest B 747-400 either. Cabin very clean and in typical elegant AF colours. Crew members waiting at each section and warmly welcoming passangers saying "Good morning Sir, welcome onboard".

SEATING

All seats with TV sets. Seat pitch quite small, the typical economy long haul pitch. 3 x 4 x 3 setting, flight completely full.

CATERING

Menus handed out after take-off. Very fresh and very good food served with fresh bread (three rounds). Ideal combination of dishes. Champagne (not the famous brand but still champagne of course) served with aperitifs + left in the galley throughout the flight with the soft drinks - very good thing.

CABIN STAFF SERVICE

Excellent. I was impressed after reading all the horror stories about AF's Tempo class. Always smiling and helpful crew members, mix of younger/mid age/older ages. Very well organized, using sir and madam when talking to the non French speaking passengers. A new thing - they serve cognac after the lunch along with the coffee and tea. I asked for Bailey's, which is not on the offer, but the attendant brought me one from Business class. Excellent.

FLIGHT ARRIVAL

Easy arrival, landing was very smooth above the Miami harbour. Customs are nightmare but that is not AF's fault of course. Luggage was on time.

CUSTOMER VERDICT

Excellent flight in Tempo (Economy) class with a very good and professional crew. I will fly again with AF on my future long-haul flights.
