DEPARTURE
I was coming from LHR. Check in there was okay, although I still think that Air France has put its
least pleasant employees at Heathrow. Even though I am Elite Plus and checked in long in advance, I
was not given a window seat. I do not think that Air France should treat its most frequent
travellers this way (I fly with them 40 or 50 times a year!) The lounge at Heathrow is not the best
either, but the magazine selection is excellent.
CABIN
Clean, cosy, and comfortable on this Airbus A320. Air France's mostly-Airbus fleet is one of their
big plus sides. I find them much more comfortable than their boeing equivalent both in the single
aisle and wide bodied families.
SEATING
3x3. Comfortable, head-rest, etc. No entertainment which is a bit of a shame.
CATERING
This was in March - before Air France changed their catering concept on European flights. At the
time, you were given a perfectly acceptable cold meal and the drink selection was rather good,
although for some reason, their alcohol selection always seems a bit arbitrary to me.
CABIN STAFF SERVICE
The purser was not particularly pleasant when I asked if I could move if there was any window seat
left. The rest of the crew, however, were young, pleasant, and very efficient.
FLIGHT ARRIVAL
Very good and fast. Bless Schengen for not having any more passport control within the area!
CUSTOMER VERDICT
I am a very frequent flyer and usually quite happy with Air France. This was not, however, their
best performance, even though the basics on board were still faultless and the plane landed 15
minutes early (that made the difference between 3 and 4*!)
