DEPARTURE
Air Malta are handled by KLM at London Heathrow - check in was quick and
efficient following a ten minute queue at the desk. The staff were
polite and friendly throughout.
CABIN
The aircraft was one of their older Boeing 737-300's, which are now
starting to show their age a little, however it was clean and tidy. But
I always find that any 737 makes you feel a little claustrophobic at
times.
SEATING
Seats were comfortable enough, considering this is only a three hour
flight, any longer and it may become uncomfortable. Fold down table,
reclining seat and seat back pocket were all in good order.
CATERING
The food was actually very nice for an economy meal. A hot, three
course meal with a choice of meat or fish. I was told by the cabin crew
that a vegetarian option is also available upon request.
CABIN STAFF SERVICE
All the crew seemed genuinely happy to help and happy to be doing the
job they do. Welcomed upon boarding and wished a safe journey upon
disembarking. No obvious 'forced' smiles and always attentive to your
needs.
FLIGHT ARRIVAL
My case was one of the first to come around the belt - within fifteen
minutes of landing. Passport control and customs were a breeze and a
taxi was easily found at the front of the airport.
CUSTOMER VERDICT
All in all very impressed. Air Malta have obviously had an in depth
look at their 'product' and making changes to improve it. 200 %
improvement on my last flight with them.
