DEPARTURE
Check in was efficient and friendly. Was departing 23.15hrs from Terminal 2E along with 3 other
flights. There were lots of people crammed into a small space. The flight was delayed 1 hr but were
not told the reason. Big rush forward to board and it did not bother the staff. No separate boarding
between First, Business or Economy.
CABIN
The cabin was clean and this 777 was configured 2x3x2. The crew just stood there with a blank look
on their faces as we boarded. Nobody came to take my coat so I forced it in front of one. As door
closed the crew came alive, with champagne and orange juice offered.
SEATING
Seat was very wide but did not like the footrest. It reclines downward unlike BA and LH and the
footrest is a metal bar. Seat not electric so it took a little muscle power to get it into the right
position. Managed to get a couple of hours sleep.
CATERING
Nothing special. A very elaborate menu but the actual food tasted and looked very average. Only two
choices of main course. The flight eventually left at 1am and they need to realise that people have
been hanging around airports for a couple of hours and they need decent food to survive the next 11
hours. Breakfast was nothing special - some fruit slices and soggy croissants.
CABIN STAFF SERVICE
Attitude and Attitude! I have read previous reviews and I was amazed at some of the comments - now I can believe them. The
staff need to show some motivation and not just hang around with blank expressions on their faces.
At the end of the day, no matter what job you do people have to run for their money !
FLIGHT ARRIVAL
We arrived at about 08.30hrs hence we reached rush hour in GRU. LH, JJ, IB, RG various flights had
already arrived therefore there was a queue of about 1000 people. Very slow and tedious.
CUSTOMER VERDICT
Will go back to LH, BA or LX as I know the service is somewhat consistent. What let AF down was the
bad attitude of the staff and poor catering.
