EWR-LHR. Width size was restricted even for average sized person, not too comfortable. Travelled
with small child helped with space allocation, would have been rather unbearable if travelling with
fully grown adult.

This particular 747 "Ruby Tuesday" needs serious interior overall. As an Aisle seated passenger I
was constantly bashed by the passing service trolley without any recognition of this by the FA.
Avoid 48 A-K as they as directly in front of the main galley and the FA's gather there to chat etc.

Seats 61 H and K which were first pair of 2 immediately behind a row of 3 at rear of plane. These were pitched ridiculously close to row in
front - around 28" pitch maybe less. Looking at seats behind
ours, which had much better pitch, it looked as though our seats had been fitted too close to row in
front - maybe there was some technical reasons like a fitting on the floor they had to avoid.
Whatever. Avoid 61H and J at all costs.

The seat width is very poor and once seated you can not remove the handset without twisting around.
Very hard as well.

We were at the rear of economy where the seating reduced from 3x4x3 to 2x3x2, but my first
impressions when we boarded the plane was that this was not long haul seating, and unfortunately
this impression proved to be fact. Even though we were able to spread out on the Sydney to Hong and
Hong Kong to London legs, these seats proved to be the most uncomfortable I have ever sat on. On
the return legs, we were not so fotunate. Never again!

The economy class seats on Virgin's 747-400 were the most uncomfortable I
have ever experienced. Don't fly a Virgin 747 if you are claustrophobic. Felt like I was in a can
of packed sardines.

64k on the way out (last row), 60a on return. Awful seats, no seat depth/width.
No comfort factor whatsoever (though leg room sufficient). Reclined front seats
make it impossible for anyone over 6ft to view IFE.

Virgin 747-400 have more room at the rear of the aircraft. Rows 61-64 have just 2 seats at either
side, ie AC and HK and have slightly more room, but you are prone to massive turbulence there.

A340-600 LHR-EWR in the middle 4 seats - the legroom was awful and I'm 5'8", the return was
B747-400 - sat next to the window and the legroom was much better - if possible don't sit in the middle seats

Great airline but being 6'2" tall the legroom was noticably poor. 32" pitch should be the minimum
for long haul flights, this was less. First time on Virgin and probably the last. Shame because
other than that it is a good airline.

The seats just aren't wide enough - legroom wasn't too much of a problem as we had bulkhead seats.
It's about time that airlines realised that we are not all 10 stone - in a world where
"obese" is becoming the norm, anyone over 16 stone would have difficulties with these seats
