777-300 service between SFO and Narita has the most uncomfortable seats of any economy class for Trans-Pacific flights. The recline is okay, but the seats are very stiff, particularly at the front of the bottom cushion. My legs constantly fall asleep in these seats. Please note that the Premium Economy seats on ANA are excellent in every aspect.

I'm very skeptical about the claims that their B777 seats have 33" pitch. Worst are seats 26DFG, as close to 2" of pitch is "stolen" from its legroom, for the bulkhead row, 25DFG. This made for a miserable 6 hour flight - the only place my knees would fit, was crammed against the armrests of the seat in front of me. I compared the seat pitch to neighboring seats and this is a problem specific to 26DFG on the B777-200. Echoing a prior commenter - if you are of average western size, also avoid the seats that have the "under seat" electronics box, because you may not be able to extend your legs. However, having said that, ANA claims they are working on moving all these boxes somewhere else.

ORD to NRT. Premium Economy at the last minute due to overbooked flight. Very generous seat width and 38" seat pitch. I found it much easier to sleep in these seats than in the regular economy seats since these seats came with adjustable back support and business-class style footrests (extend out from the bottom of your seat). I could stretch out my legs to the fullest extent, which I could not do in economy. The power ports in every seat are a plus. AVOD entertainment same as in economy. I would recommend the premium economy section, but I am not sure if I would recommend middle seats. It is important to note that with the aisle seat footrest fully extended, it is hard for whoever in the middle seat to get out.

Insufficient seat pitch for anyone 5 ft 10 in and average weight. This was a 12 hr flight. All standard inflight reading materials had to be removed from seat pocket so my knees could fit. Video electronics box took away most of my foot space. Folding foot rest helped.

Although aisle seats are easier to go out than window seats, they have the PTV box under the seats which make it difficult to stretch out your feet. Overall the seats have good pitch and recline. Has headwings on each seat.

Narita to JFK, my seat was 26A which was the emergency seat. Seat pich is almost as same as First class because there are no seat in front of you. Two windows are yours,and your feet is so free that it was easy to sleep.

The seat was better than average overall, but there is no accounting for who is sitting next to you. I had a hog of the arm and the metal separator at the feet.
