The seat would be good if 1 seat was removed from each row. Seat width is way to narrow. Also, when the seat is reclined the seat cushion moves out and up slightly, but with no footrest my legs were almost left hanging. Not good for circulation.

MAN-DXB-KUL. Probably the most uncomfortable series of flights I have ever been on. The way the new seats on Emirates B777-300 recline is by the seat cushion moving forward and the back hinging at the top of the seat. As a result, when the seat is reclined, the leg room is cut down drastically - because the angle changes, when you put your legs out under the seat in front, your legs now bang into the footrest. When the footrest is in the down position, its lowest point is too high and very uncomfortable. Head rest hard, flat and too long, forcing your head forward. If you want to put your head back to sleep it can be lowered, but the bottom of the headrest then digs into the top of your back and shoulders. The seat design incorporates a lot of ideas that on paper may seem like a good idea, but whoever designed these seats has obviously never travelled any long distance sitting in them.

Shame about the seating which was so bad I would not even consider this airline in economy again until improved. Food and service good. Entertainment still the best.

LHR-DXB-KUL and back, a total of 30 flying hours. The food was good, the inflight entertainment would have been good, although I could hardly see it as the screen did not have the right viewing angle. The seats are much too cramped!

I recently flew from Dubai to Houston on the new 777-22 LR. I was in disbelief that Emirates have the nerve to use 2-4-2 seating in Y class! Really for a 16 hour flight the standard 3-3-3 should be a must. IFE system excellent and service great - the seat itself is comfortable, but narrow and for those on the aisle the extra seat in the row means people are constantly getting elbowed. I can't believe such a quality airline as EK could have 2-4-2 seating in on a 777! Cheap and nasty charter airlines do this 3-3-3 seating on A330 for a longhaul flight!

Not bad, good service, good entertainment. Shame the seats don't go back a little more. My friend not knocked a few times in the aisle seat though by staff and other passengers.

The seats in the 3x4x3 configuration are far too narrow. You constantly bang elbows with the person next to you. The legroom is good but the entertainment boxes under the seat do restrict it on some seats. The seats were also hard. The only thing saving Emirates is the ICE entertainment system.

Rows 46/47 on either side have only 2 seats together. (J,K and A,B)The bad news is that whoever takes the window seats, will not be able to lean against the wall to sleep due to the shape of the plane at the back. The good news is there is room to stow things between the seat and the wall as well as far more room and privacy in those rows. DO NOT book Row 48 as the seats do not recline fully due to the back bulkhead wall.

Despite 10 seats per row, the cabin is still spacious and bright, which make passengers feel comfortable. The seat is soft, AVOD in front of you is superb. If you sit straight, the legroom is quite nice. But if you like to relax a little bit, a box like object under the front seat can be unplesant.

In my opinion Emirates offer reasonable, slightly above average economy class product. The major let down is the seat width on their B777 - Y class cabin is configured with 10 abreast seating compared to 9 on most airlines.

I always request aisle seats in the x2 config as it makes going to the toilet easier. Since loosing weight, I've fitted in the tight seats a lot better- if you are big, then you will struggle with the seat pitch. I noticed a larger female near me needed a seat belt extender. The seat pitch in Y class is tight, but is comparable with most other Y class airlines

I was on a JFK-DXB and DXB-BOM flight. The AVOD is really good on Emriates, but the seats leave a lot to be desired. Although their seat pitch is advertized as 32", in reality due to AVOD equipment it feels like its almost 30". The width too is quite narrow. Other carriers use a 2x4x2 or 3x2x3 arrangement in the 777 coach; but Emirates has unfortunately decided to put in 3x4x3. On the plus side, each seat does have a power socket... so could work inflight on my laptop. Overall, reasonable seat on a short-mid haul flight. Not so comfy on long haul. Somehow that day I had flown SFO-JFK on UA day earlier - and UA's old 757 coach felt more comfortable.
