The worst long-haul economy seat I've had. It makes you slide under the seat in front, no back
support at all etc.

I find the new shell economy seats create the worst of both worlds, less room, no benefits at
all unless you are very tall and don't intend to sleep. With no recline these seats are
uncomfortable for long flights and you slide forward and bang your knees on the seat in front.

I went for an aisle seat and wanted to be able to put my seat back without disturbing the
person behind. Getting into the seat, it felt like cheap plastic, as there was the creaking
and crackling of plastic whenever you moved. Getting settled in, I found the positives about
the new seat - more leg room, and I wasn't disrupted by the person in-front putting the seat
back. The recline mechanism was interesting but it didn't go back far enough to be comfy. The
location of the seat was great. Wing section of the plane and wasn't near the toilets at the
back of the section, instead next to the galley. Convenient to get the mid flight drink and
snack.

I understand the need for a shell seat, but this is ridiculous. The seat shifts forward and
limiting my legroom, I had to raise my knee up to the tray to feel more comfortable. The
headrest will not adjust with the recline, putting you in an awkward position. Cathay Pacific
did not consider that if people settle into a reclined position in these seats for 12 hours
then get up, you receive back pain!

Perth/ Hong Kong / Vancouver return. The seats were worn out, lumpy, uneven just horrible. The
seat pocket was broken and fell on your knees. Impossible to get comfortable. These planes
are inappropriate for long haul flights.

I found the seats uncomfortable for long haul travel, I travel from London to Melbourne
(Australia) yearly and will not be flying with Cathay Pacific again for this sort of travel.
The seats do not actually recline instead the bottom of the seat shifts forward reducing leg room.

I have to say the seats made this the most uncomfortable long haul flight I have been on. I couldn't
get comfortable at all and ended up with an extremely sore bum. There was little enough elbow room
which made meal times very difficult. Won't fly with Cathay Pacific again.

I cannot say strongly enough how much I dislike the new Cathay Pacific economy seating design.
Whilst the padding of the seat, the tv screen and the width are fine, this is totally eclipsed by
the ridiculous new "sliding" seat which does not actually recline but leaves you with a painful
back. There is also no footrest so your body is contorted into a horribly uncomfortable sleeping
position. I am a big fan of Cathay Pacific and am even a shareholder but I cannot fly long haul with
Cathay anymore. I would rather the old low-tech seats which properly recline any day. Horrible,
horrible decision by Cathay.

I was pleasantly surprised to find a seat that I could cope with and I'm 2 meters tall. Great
was the fact that only the inner shell of the seat moves, this means that you don't feel
trapped when the person in front of you reclines. This normally is a real invasion on your
"living space". I also found that I could fold the table out completely and could see the AVOD
all the time without trouble.

This was my first time travelling in the new cabin format in Airbus. I found the fixed non-
recline OK and it helps with using the IFE system not having the seat in front right in your
lap. Also gone are the mutual seat recline wars. However the cabin was chilly for the whole
trap even with 2 blankets and a vacant seat next to me to console me. Others complained and I
think the aircrew knew about it but apparently nothing they could do.

This new seat design is bad for people with lower back issues. The seats are curved the wrong
way and my back hurt for several hours after the trip. I used several pillows to try and give
me some support without success. Also, there is no cushion in the seats for a long haul
flight. I like Cathay Pacific in every other way, but will not be using them again because of
these seats. My back just can not take it. Its a shame they upgrade to this seating design.
I think they will lose a lot of repeat customers.

We travelled from Hong Kong to Johannesburg on this plane and it was the hardest seat I have
ever had to sit on. I would compare it to a bench seat as there is absolutely not cushioning.
The new design does stop people in front reclining into your space which is and advantage. I
found the seating in the older plane more comfortable.
