unlike most of the newer 737's in Continental's fleet, the 747-300 has flimsy pads for headrests, rather than the adjustable ones which make quite a difference on anything beyond a short- haul flight. Recline is a joke, but at least makes getting out of your seat easier in flight. Average for domestic economy - or at least would have been years ago.

My wife and flew from Orlando, FL to Phoenix, AZ via Houston on Continental. Neither of us is a large person. We both agreed that these were the least comfortable seats we have ever been in on an aircraft. When I got to Phoenix, my hip hurt so badly, I had trouble walking. I limped for two days. On our return trip to Orlando, we made it a point to get up and walk every 30 minutes and change seat positions.

One of the most uncomfortable journeys I have ever experienced travelling from Newark to Gatwick on an ageing aircraft that was never designed to cope with long haul flights such as this. I feel it is disgraceful that this airline can get away with such poor quality amenities and disregard for passenger comfort.

EWR-PEK. I am around 6 feet tall and my knees were pressed against the seat in front of me for the entire flight (around 14 hours gate to gate). They had bruises on them when I got off. There were personal tv screens but they did not work on either the outbound or return leg. I had to wake up the passenger in front of me so he could put his seat up for me to get up. The seat was also fairly narrow. It was a very uncomfortable way to travel to Asia.

CPH-NWK return. Went online and got Exit rows both ways. Got row 15 on the way back. Be warned row 15 is an exit row with no seat recline, which means on an 8 hour flight (on a 757!) its like trying to sleep in an armchair - awful seat - avoid at all costs.

Seats themselves were ok for a 6hour flight, but old 757's are unsuitable for transatlantic.

The seat layout is excellent and the seats themselves not bad at all. I was even able to sleep several hours during my GVA-EWR flight although it was nearly full. Return better with a 50% empty aft cabin.

A tight fit with narrow seat width and very limited leg room. More suited to a European short charter flight, than a transatlantic 8 hour journey

Very cramped seats, very uncomfortable. not enough legroom. CO should do something about it, maybe remove a couple of rows. One of the worst layouts I can remember on a commercial plane.

Continental has really fallen behind the times in their Economy section. I have flown them for over 15 years now, through good and bad, but they are slowly but surely falling behind in their economy seats features and comfort. Sometimes fly their BusinessFirst, this is superior over most other American based airlines for travel within the US. They really need to start upgrading their Seat with better cushions, and in-seat entertainment, particular four flights over 4 hours. They still fly 757 on International routes, horrible experience!
