The AA/QF lounge has been recently refurbished to include some large seats that
seem to have given a rigid feeling to the lounge. You can't move them and it
limits where you can sit with a group. Amenities remain basic. The flight we were on was six hours late and we got thrown out of the
lounge in the wee hours of the morning, an hour before take-off, with the curt message: "The lounge
is now closed. Please go to Gate 41". They had to clean it, I guess, but it's great to know that the
lounge won't remain open when you need it most. First class lounge staff disappeared after midnight.
At least the self-help alcohol remained whereas the pay bar in the business class lounge closed.
Shower fittings in the disability cubicle were broken and it was very difficult to get the water
cooler than hot.

Flying Cathay Pacific to HKG, who have use of the Qantas lounge at Sydney. Night flight so
trying to relax after a long day. Its the second time I've used the lounge and each time was
similar. The floor needed more than a good vacuum. It looks as if its maintained last
thing (at night) only or at best has a 'quick run over' at other times. I cannot relax in a dirty
area. Not a nice place, the food is just OK but is small in
available quantity and so runs out quickly, so time your visit to the counter well. Internet access
is well behind Cathay standards. Qantas staff at the entrance were nice but let down by the
catering area staff who may have suffered from a long day.

Was looking forward to experiencing the new First Class Lounge. I found it quite difficult to locate
the entrance. I found the reception somewhat overbearing and formal - I was asked if it was my
first visit and having said yes was then ushered straight into the dining area - it would have been
nice to have been asked if I would like to be shown round or have the facilities outlined etc.
However I wanted some lunch and had a great view of the Sydney skyline and runway. Service was
excellent and friendly - though only 3 of us dining. Extensive menu on offer and my light lunch was
fine - not amazing though. Lounge was spacious and light. There was an equally condescending
Receptionist at the Spa there who informed me that treatments were only available to full fare First
Class Qantas passengers - so when is an Alliance not an Alliance ? I was booked on a full fare
American codeshare. I was not impressed with her tone and manner. The business facilities were
excellent and other staff I encountered were more welcoming. I enjoyed my time there but found it
all a bit corporate and soulless.

Used the Tokyo Narita Qantas Business lounge before my flight from Tokyo to Sydney. Overall a good
Qantas lounge with good amenities and many many internet stations. I requested a shower room before my
flight, to be told they were all busy. I went to check and there was one free. I went and told them
it was available and could they please have it cleaned so i could use it. They gave me a beeper and
after about 10 minutes told me the shower room was ready. I went into the room and it hadnt been
cleaned at all! I eventually asked the cleaner for a fresh towel and shower mat as time was running
out before the flight. This experience would never happen at lounges i have used before in
Bangkok,
Singapore and London Heathrow. There was also a fairly poor selection of snacks in my opinion.

Visited the lounge on my flight back to Australia. This is signposted as the American Airlines
Admirals club, however is shared with Qantas. As a Qantas Club member you receive drink vouchers at
the bar. (as they are not free) You also have to purchase food (other than some cookies or pretzels)
The lounge is fairly clean and has fairly sophisticated furniture and fairly spacious. There are
internet stations in the far corner of the lounge however you need to be a American Airlines
Admirals Club member to have complimentary access to Wi-Fi for your laptop. Bathrooms fairly clean.
Front desk attendants very friendly and welcoming.

Lounge is quite small and gets very crowded before the LAX flight departs and only has one computer
with internet access. Food and beverage is not bad but could be better.
Its a shame that Qantas has renovated the SYD and MEL lounges but not Brisbane as it does get used
by a great number of people.
Staff were friendly enough but nothing special. Overall a pretty disappointing lounge for what is
supposed to be a major focus airport for Qantas.

The new lounge is an architecture wonder and very spacious. Despite numerous Qantas staff, service
was slow. Self serve food was limited: e.g. mediterranean vegetable focacias. No self serve drinks,
which was OK but with only one barman, a queue formed. Veuve Cliquot champagne was delicious. Dining
room menu looked great, but who has the time to wait?
You would need a couple of hours in the lounge
prior to boarding to enjoy what it has to offer. I don't know about other 1st class travellers, but
I typically do not check-in more than 2 hours before a flight. With security screening, immigration,
etc. and gate closure 15 mins before flight, this leaves little time to spend in the lounge.

Adequate, quiet but enclosed and gloomy. This is the BA/QF lounge, which we've always found conveniently
located. The food is cardboard and the drinks limited. Usually transiting at some ungodly hour so just want
somewhere to freshen up.
Less crowded than the SIA First lounge so that's a plus but the seats are
uncomfortable. Beverages limited. Pleasant but nothing to write home about in comparison with CX First lounge in
HK or Qantas new First lounge in Sydney.

This has to be one of the best lounges ever. Well done Qantas. We sat down for a quick meal and glass of wine
before embarking on a holiday where we'd be visiting 12 different airports. The food was freshly cooked with a
good selection of wine. Served with a smile.
Seats comfortable, internet and business facilities good. Now, if only Qantas could get its inflight quality (variable service, passable seats that don't work in First and tired
cabins) half as good.

This lounge is big, to give the other poster his due, but that's about all it's got going for it
IMHO. There is the most minimal amount of boring and cheap food available, the soft drinks are
almost non-existent (apart from a post mix machine that is very weak on flavour) and you are not
allowed to store your carry on luggage there while you wander around the airport - a service that I
treasure and one of the reasons I use lounges. I know, security, but it it's gone through the 3 or
4 check that are now mandatory I don't see the problem. When Singapore airport has free wifi
everywhere; there are clean facilities and great cheap food and drinks, why else would you both to
trek all the way to the Qantas lounge which is - as the previous poster said - a long way from
shops and check in areas.

Lounge is shared with American Airlines Admirals Club. Is located a 2 minute walk from the main
terminal. You take the elevator up one floor from the main level or can walk up a set of stairs if
feeling energetic.
The lounge is smallish in size (not tiny) and has a fair selection of food,
beverages, alcohol, complimentary internet access etc. Service from front desk staff is very good
too. Were able to check in at the lounge as we were in transit from an inter-island flight and had
checked our bags through from Maui.
