4 computer terminals - however after 5 minutes of mucking around on the computer I realised something was wrong and I went to the reception area to check. Sure enough no internet was available, I was cheerfully told. Not what I expected at all. The food was ok, the drinks range was a bit limited. Staff clearing the lounge were friendly, but as far as I am concerned the reception was a dead loss.

The lounge is only open to premium passengers from intercontinental flights, and elite members of Lufthansa's Frequent Flyer programme (no Star Alliance, or partner flights, keeping the lounge uncrowded. Luggage stored upon arrival, and put my name in for a shower at reception. Experience has taught me to wait for a long time for a shower in the arrivals lounges; not at here. The attendant told me there are 26 showers (plus two on the main level (the lounge spans two levels)). Heated floors, grooming supplies available on request (all name brands), and they'll even press your clothes if you're First Class or a gold card holder or above (unfortunately, I'm only silver, so I can't report on that). Full breakfast buffet upstairs with hot and cold foods, comfortable seating, recharging station for mobile phones, and internet computers. Lufthansa has outdone themselves with this new lounge. The staff informed me that Lufthansa's will open a second Welcome Lounge in Concourse A as part of their redevelopment project.

Lufthansa has just recently opened its first arrivals lounge in Frankfurt airport. Its open for premium passengers as well as elite loyalty card holders arriving on long haul flights. Its open from 5am until 12.30 pm and is located just outside the exit of baggage in Terminal 1B. It was bright and staff took care of my luggage and stored it in a secure area. The reception asked me if I needed a shower and directed me to the shower area downstairs. When I went down, another staff directed me to the shower room and it was nice to see a welcome note displaying my name on a LCD screen in the shower room! The shower was delightful and had heated granite floors, rainforest shower heads, Occitane toiletries etc. There was an extensive breakfast buffet with hot items like scrambled eggs, pancakes, waffles etc and fired eggs could be ordered too. Cup noodles available on request. A lot of cold items like cereals, cold cuts, cheese etc . Ample dining space, free internet via computer terminal, snooze areas were other features of lounge. Overall, Lufthansa has done an excellent job here and this lounge is far superior than its existing lounges in the departure area.

Nice new design but always very crowded. Entrance is shared with Business Lounge and toilets are only available in the Business Lounge. Excellent drink selection but food selection is a little bit chaotic. They have a lot of stuff which not really fits together and especially the salads are low-quality convenience products with tons of mayonaise. Only limited offer of cake, sweets or chocolate. Extensive offer of national and international newspapers. Actually, they had set up a smoothy bar where a bartender made fresh smoothies. Quite a nice idea, although the noise of the fruit mixer was quite disturbing.

The lounge is very small with limited facilities and space. Still the old design which looks a little bit outdated. Drink selection okay, but food selection really poor.

What a difference to the old airside lounge and temporary lounge at Cologne airport! Very good selection of food and drinks with plenty of seating, even on a Friday evening. If only all Lufthansa lounges could be like this. This was the Senator/Star Alliance Gold Lounge upstairs so can't comment on the business lounge downstairs but I was impressed at last by a Lufthansa lounge.

The major shock is that, as of Fall 2008, this lounge no longer honors UA Red Carpet Memberships. So much for the Star Alliance. It is a reasonable lounge, T-Mobile wireless, drinks and simple snacks, comfortable chairs, but not especially spacious. The issue of space is offered as an explanation for denying entry to all but those traveling on Business Class tickets, even if they have paid $400-500 to join the UA Red Carpet Club.

Can only agree with previous c0mments about the Senator Lounge in Frankfurt. It is dirty and crowded. There is no food to speak of (besides a foul smelling "soup"?) Not a place to call home.

This area is already prepared for the A380. C class passengers have their own boarding gate which is in fact a fully equipped business lounge with direct access to the plane. Excellent idea. The only minus is the very long walk to these gates.

We made a mistake by listening to the purser on our arriving flight. She told us it's a very short walk from the gate to the First Class Terminal from the gate. Should have asked for someone to pick us up. We eventually made it through the maze to the check-in hall, where the people at the First Class counter arranged for someone to pick us up. A staff member greeted us at the door, took us through security and gave us a tour of the facilities. Nice to see a duty free shop. Lounge facilities are amazing. Seats comfortable. Food excellent - we had the breakfast buffet and used the sit-down restaurant for lunch. The bath facilities, which include a bath tub, offered a nice place to freshen up between flights. Wi-Fi down for a couple hours, but eventually fixed. Staff are amazing. No worries about missing the flight. Our concierge found us and escorted us downstairs, where a Mercedes took us to our aircraft. Our driver escorted us into the terminal and right to the aircraft door.

A very basic lounge to begin with. The lounge was not overcrowded which was good. However overall service was below par, no announcements made of departing flights and you had to constantly ask staff for essentials like a bottle opener etc. The only saving grace was that lounge was rather quiet.

A joke of a lounge and a shame for Lufthansa. This lounge is overcrowded, they know it but they do not change it. I had a layover of 3 hours at FRA on a flight to YYZ and wanted to rest in the lounge - impossible! Toilets constantly full, had to get out twice to go to the "normal" toilets outside. Staff could not check me into my AC flight (although Star Alliance) so had to go out to the gate where absolutely no priority was given to BC passengers. Food and beverages at the lounge are minimal, bread/croissants, boiled eggs and jam and that was it. Oh and Haribo sweets of course. It's great to have a selection of alcohol but at 9 AM I'd rather have some breakfast. Very difficult to find a spot to sit as the lounge is hopelessly overcrowded. Sorry, but this is not a business lounge. They could learn a lot from their Qantas colleagues in Sydney for instance, great lounge with decent food & beverage choices.
