"I enjoyed a tranquil time here"

(United Kingdom)

Trip Verified | There are several Coral lounges at Bangkok Airport, and despite my voucher indicating where to go, it took me a while to locate the Coral 'Cosmo' Lounge. A smiling face welcomed me, and I entered a long narrow and quiet place. On the left side of the lounge were rows of seating with tables for dining, and on the right, were comfortable sofas for relaxing. One side of the length of the lounge is open to apron views but was marred by too many screens and metal framings outside. At the far end was a view of the boarding gate areas below. There are shower facilities and I was told even some sleep rooms, which I was not able to see for myself. The bar was small, with a few choices of drinks, but the food department looked very inviting. Sprays of small yellow Oncidium Orchids placed between sections added a decorative touch. The hot food (mainly Asian) was in colourful heavy pans, and the seafood curry and rice I had was delicious. I was there for nearly two hours, and no more than five persons were in the lounge. The barman said that the place rarely got busy, which also suited me fine, as I do not enjoy overcrowded lounges. A bonus was having a complimentary 15-minute neck, shoulder and arm massage, which really made me feel good and pampered. Do remember to generously tip the masseur. For those who wished to exercise, a gym room provided the necessary equipment. The flight information screen wasn't working properly, and as the WiFi connected well, I was able to keep track of my flight boarding notices. I enjoyed a tranquil time here, and the staff were pleasant and engaging.

"noisy, overcrowded, with luggage strewn all over"

(United Kingdom)

Trip Verified | Flying from London to Bangkok via Abu Dhabi involved a rather long layover, and Etihad's Business Class Lounge was a welcome and restful retreat. Arriving well past midnight, I was pleased to see how empty it was. Following a quick shower (the attendant ensuring it was spotlessly clean), I was able to relax and take in the atmosphere. Storing your hand luggage is a bonus, enabling you to move around easily, without having to haul your cabin baggage with you. Choosing where to settle down, meant many options. There were bright spacious seating areas, quiet dimly lit zones, as well as semi-private booths with your own TV to keep you company. The variety of comfortable seating was impressive. There was also a semi-partitioned work area with several computers and desk space. The restaurant-style dining sections are spacious. The fairly extensive bar features somewhere in the central part of the lounge and has a wide selection of drinks from premium brand spirits, wines, and champagne to soft drinks. Both barmen were engaging in short bursts of conversation while keeping the drinks flowing. The food choice was extensive. From Middle Eastern to Indian, and Western cuisine as well as finger food, there was no shortage of choice. Several coffee stations were spread around, and helping myself to several cappuccinos, and settling in a booth with TV was a good way to pass some time as well. However, large lounges also feel rather impersonal, unlike small cosy ones where the staff make you feel welcome and interact with you. On my second visit, when on route back to London, arriving late evening, the ambiance at the lounge was quite different and disappointing. It was noisy, overcrowded, with luggage strewn all over, and with little space to sit and relax. What spoiled it even more, was the behavior of many passengers. Several had removed their socks and shoes, stretched out on couches occupying three or more seat spaces and exposing their feet close to other passengers. Fortunately, my stay lasted just over an hour and I was glad to leave.

"The staff were chatty"

(United Kingdom)

Trip Verified | Flying to Abu Dhabi mid-afternoon, I had the opportunity to visit Etihad's First & Business Lounge at Heathrow Terminal 4. I was welcomed by staff who wished me a pleasant stay. As I paused by the bar, even without requesting, I was immediately offered a glass of Joseph Perrier champagne. As they noticed me taking photos, I was quickly approached by a staff member to hold on a bit longer, until they had laid out all the lunchtime food. The display was very appetizing, even though there wasn't a vast selection of hot items. Opposite was a proper dining room with table service. The staff were chatty and made me feel relaxed and comfortable. The lounge isn't particularly large. There are no vast views of aircraft taking off. There are several styles of furnishings, and areas designated for quieter moments, as well as a children's playroom. The decor is soothing, with some of Etihad's logo colours of dark brown, sepia and yellow ochre. Complimenting the design is also dark wood pannelling, decorated with ornaments and airline memorabilia. As I had plenty of time before my flight, I decided to have a tasty light lunch of Moutabbal salad and another salad. The staff kept enticing me to try more Middle Eastern cuisine, but I gently refused, as I knew lunch would also be served on the flight. Later at the bar, I was treated to a Manhattan cocktail, before going to the boarding gate. On leaving, the manager introduced himself and inquired how I rated my experience and wished me a pleasant flight.

"dirty, noisy and crowded"

(Germany)

Trip Verified | Visiting this lounge did not encourage us to use it again. Although we are Silver members, we had to wait in a queue to enter the lounge, because of the many people paying to use the lounge. The lounge was crowded, with very limited seating inside: the atmosphere was like a student mensa, not offering the peace and quiet we were hoping for. Tea and coffee facilities were limited, with no milk available. Overall impression was dirty, noisy and crowded.

"Terminal 1 lounge like a school canteen"

(Indonesia)

Trip Verified | While the flight isn’t good like I said earlier. There is some positive and negative aspect of their Lounge in AUH. The lounge itself in Terminal 3 is good enough, sadly it’s still nowhere near as other airline lounges. However, the Terminal 1 lounge is more like a school canteen instead of a lounge. It’s crowded, nowhere to seat and the design is getting too old and terrible. The food and other facilities in Terminal 1 lounge is more awful than Terminal 3. The shower is small and you have to wait 30 minutes each and it’s unacceptable That 1 shower is out of order. (We have no issues at the Terminal 3 lounge and waiting for Shower just 5-10 minutes in T3 unlike T1). The drinks choices were ok in T3, but super limited in T1. My suggestion - Try to fly Etihad only if you fly out of Terminal 3 instead of Terminal 1 or avoid Etihad if there is no choice out of Terminal 3. I hope Etihad take note of their serious issues with their T1 lounge and improved it.

"lounge was so disappointing"

(Kuwait)

Trip Verified | Overall the Miracle Lounge they use at Bangkok Airport was so disappointing. Food & beverage choice very limited. The standard of beverage selection was so cheap. Uncleaned , unattended tables all around which looked filthy. Have to improve it in all aspects.

"been spoilt by overcrowding"

(Saudi Arabia)

Trip Verified | Early this lounge is good but by 8am it too crowded & very noisy & hard pushed to find a seat as so many passengers flooding in here. The biggest letdown here is the complete lack of toilets as is abysmal that you have this many people in this lounge yet not enough toilets - terrible hence the toilets near to get 35 are a good option. The scrambled eggs are excellent along with the sausages & bacon. Bread was fresh especially toasted so it’s a plus point for the food & a good choice also for morning breakfast. But because of the noise in this lounge & lack of toilets I tend not to stay here now for very long as it’s been spoilt by overcrowding.

"the airline is cost cutting"

(Saudi Arabia)

Trip Verified | So now this is no longer a Etihad Exclusive lounge so obvious the airline is cost cutting & now Virgin Australia now share this lounge. So other airlines will soon follow which means this lounge will soon become overcrowded. The food on offer was very poor no snacks in the form of sandwiches, fresh bread, cakes, biscuits was on offer, no orange juice available & bottled water was scarce. WiFi kept disconnecting so kept in the airports WiFi which was better.

"cost cutting is continuing"

(United Arab Emirates)

Trip Verified | Shocking experience at this lounge. The quality of food has significantly dropped over the years. It is evident that Etihad's cost cutting is continuing, especially with the loss of the nail salon and six sense spa. I tried the food and it was so bad that I left it and went to McDonald's in the food court which tasted 10x better.

"I asked if I could pay"

(Australia)

Trip Verified | On my recent trip from Abu Dhabi to Istanbul I tried entering the lounge using my Velocity Gold card but was quickly informed that I could not enter because Velocity members only had access to the Al Reem lounge (run by Plaza Premium instead of Etihad). However, when I asked if I could pay for the lounge access to the Business class lounge as advertised on Etihad's website, I was advised that I couldn't even do that. It appears that the lounge staff at Etihad's business class lounge are not up to date with the Etihad's policies, which is disappointing and discouraging.
