I Dickinson is absolutely spot on! The First lounge is also open to all the noise and
hullabaloo of the airport as well, and there are no quiet areas to rest in-between flights.
Are they not aware that some (probably most) travellers choose to use airport lounges to get
away from the cacophony which most airports generate, especially in Dubai when so many flights
leave at anti-social times? It's like sitting in the middle of a prison corridor with
shouts, alarm bells and sirens ringing in your ears constantly. Plus there are constant PA
announcements which make any chance of sleep impossible. The Spa is also a con with no hint
that treatments have to be booked in advance and therefore was fully booked for the haircut I
would have liked at 2am! On the plus side food is very good and wines decent, but this was
thoroughly disappointing overall.

Without doubt, one of the biggest, most expensive and yet worst designed lounges on the
planet. Why for instance in a lounge designed for thousands of early morning/nighttime transit
travelers are there just 10 'sleeper' seats which have been strategically placed directly
above the security checkpoint (the nosiest place in the lounge!)? Why are there hundreds of
straight-backed, stiff, uncomfortable chairs completely unsuitable for rest/relaxation and
only a few relatively comfortable chairs/sofas? Why are their so many dining tables? Very few
people actually sit down to eat at them! The lounge is always packed to or beyond capacity.
You cannot serve your own drinks - with the exception of water and juice. There is nowhere to
store your bags etc. The staff are useless. Overall - given the probable investment it is
amazing how badly designed the flagship Emirates lounge is! Do they do any competitor and/or
market research? Just another example of Emirates reality not meeting the hype.

Hideous experience. Arrived at 6.30am where fire alarms were ringing throughout the airport
until I left at 9.30am. The lounge is not enclosed and as it is situated above the main
departure area you experience the noise from the rest of the airport. Despite being told by
reception staff that no boarding announcements would be made every flight was called over the
PA system, once every couple of minutes. If you're looking for a relaxing lounge give this
one a miss. Passengers sleeping every where and taking the whole sofa areas up.

For smokers the old first class lounge was much better, more comfortable seating etc. However,
the choice of dining in the new one is superb. The big downside was the attitude of the staff
in the lounge (and Emirates ground staff in general). They were just plain rude, dismissive,
unhelpful, obstructive. The experience in Dubai completely ruined my image of Emirates, and I
will think long and hard before flying them again.

The Terminal 1 Lounge (Near Gate 122?) was virtually empty around Midnight, but there were
still adequate food choices available and plenty staff replenishing the food and cleaning up
etc. I couldn't get the WiFi working but other than that, a pleasant enough way to break the
journey for and hour with a snack and a drink and certainly better than the echoing factory-
like spaces of Terminal 3 or the Sleeping Thousands littering the floors in Terminal 1. I
usually have fairly short connections through DXB and I don't usually bother with the Lounges
- but I'll certainly use this one again.

A delightful Lounge, with the usual Emirates style. Light years ahead of the situation in
2006, when there was no Emirates Lounge and all that Business passengers were given was a $25
dollar voucher and left to the mercy of a totally inadequate commercial outlet. The lounge is
small, but well serviced for drinks, light refreshments, papers, etc. The staff were pleasant
and helpful.

My experience was disappointing from the moment I stepped out of the chauffeur transportation
that Emirates lays on for Business class check in. There were little or no staff to assist
someone who is far more familiar with BAs offering but eventually a 2nd member of staff was
able to get the self service machine to work. I expected much from terminal 3 but was going to
be disappointed from beginning to end. I have reviewed terminal 2 on this site previously and
said it was like a UN refugee camp with people lying on the floor everywhere a nowhere to
move. I would describe terminal 3 as a refugee camp run by the Swiss. Still far too packed and
difficult to move around as the overpriced duty free is clearly more important than the
passengers. After fighting my way through the throngs of people I reached the lounge to find
myself at the end of a queue of at least 70 people. It was just awful. I arrived at 6am and
can only assume that it must be a very busy time as the lounge was packed people sitting on
the floor in places. The lounge is long and thin and on both sides of the terminal (the middle
is like an atrium). The good points was that there was a good choice of cooked food but just
nowhere to sit. Thankfully I was not in their long.

The lounge is easy to find. A warm welcome from the staff. The lounge isn't large but
comfortable, plenty of seats available. Large choice of good hot and cold food, fine drinks,
Emirates on this point deserves 5 stars. Choice of newspapers and magazines in different
languages, large TV screen, business centre, basically there's nothing missing. Toilets are
clean, shower ready for use. There's an announcement for boarding time. Overall a fine lounge,
there's only some noise coming from the water fountain, if you seat next to it, but nothing
too annoying.
