Has anybody flown business class with Air Transat (Globespan) from on the Vancouver-Gatwick flight?
If so, can you actually sleep in the seats and which are the best seats in the business class cabin?
Is there any privacy?
Any hints about which seats to pre book would be gratefully received.

My parents flew "business class" with this airline a few years ago. It was perfectly
acceptable but don`t expect the full business class of scheduled transatlantic airlines. Any
airline that advertises "Wider, more comfortable leather seats and more leg room" but does not give
the exact legroom is likely to be only 34-36" at best (scheduled start at approx 52"). This is
better than the 30" or so you would get in economy but don`t expect flat beds or huge reclining seats.
If you feel that this type of seat is good enough for the extra you have paid, I would go for
it, you will at least be more comfortable than the rest in economy. As I said before, there was
absolutely nothing wrong with their experience and they did get priority check in and boarding as
well, but just keep your expectations in perspective.

I've used Air Transat's Club Class flying Glasgow-Vancouver-Glasgow. Best think of it as a premium
economy service similar to BA's World Traveller Plus with a few little extras. On such a long flight
I felt it was worth while for the extra leg room and wider seat; no lie-flat beds. No PTV's either
just a large screen at the front of the club class section. Club class cabin is 2-3-2 across.
Hope this helps.

The seats are a bit wider and more comfortable, and you get a few inches more legroom. It is not
business class as you would expect it on a scheduled airline, but it is a bit better than premium
economy. BTW, Canadian Affair are taking over as agents for Air Transat from Globespan, which now
has a relationship with Zoom.

I've havn't flow Club Class to the UK, however, I have flown it many times
between Toronto and southern destinations. I flew last month from Toronto to San
Salvador. The food was excellent. Best bet is to aviod the middle row of seat when booking. Also
avoid the last row of seats in Club Class as they do not fully recline.

Yes, I flew the club class on TS about three years ago, YVR LGW. Don't expect BA club, but I tell
you it's not far off the downgraded Air Canada Executive First! Nice, wider leather seat, better
meal. No individual in-flight entertainment unit. Worth the price, though.

Gatwick to Toronto rather than Vancouver - probably the same aircraft and service
though. As others have said, the seat pitch is at the top end of economy or the bottom end of businss class,
no more than that. Also, upgrading is a mixed bag where food is concerned because they load on just
enough meals for the business class passengers so unless you're right at the front you may well not
get a choice. Also, the airline is way off the pace as regards in-flight entertainment - not only do you have no
opportunity to start and stop movies when you want, or even select from a number of channels but
you're actually limited to a single film being shown on a communal LCD screen a few rows ahead.
Pretty primitive for the price.
