Which is better in first class - Gulf Air or Qatar? Have to fly from Singapore to Heathrow, can choose Gulf First all the way or Qatar biz to Doha and
1st to Heathrow. I hear good things about Qatar, also the price is in their favour by £200.

Flew Qatar a few months ago in First and it was brand new plane and exceptional service. Doha
airport was a bit chaotic and lounge overcrowded, but staff was very attentive. I've flown Gulf Air
several times in Business and First and it always seems like a poor cousin to Emirates and now
Qatar. I keep reading great things about Gulf Air, though, so maybe I just have bad luck. I'd take
Qatar.

Fly with Qatar. Their aircrafts, product, IFE, and cabin crew exceed Gulf Air. I would only fly
Gulf Air if the price was half the price of Qatar. Gulf Air aircrafts are old and their newer
aircrafts still have the old Singapore Airlines interior which have been leased. Staff on Gulf Air
have a don't care attitude. Although Gulf Air has fantastic Lounges especially in Bahrain, it's just
a pitty they cant do the same for the onboard product.

I haven't flown Qatar yet but am gold member with Gulf.
Gulf air 1st class is only acceptable in their A330 aircraft with the skybed service. Forget the
A340, the 1st class in these aircraft is a disgrace.

Definitely Qatar Airways in comparison to Gulf Air. Gulf Air lags behind in terms of attention to
detail. First class on the A-340 600 is phenomenal

No hesitation ! Fly Qatar Airways on their new A340 : great flights.
The Premium Terminal in Doha Airport is just amazing (not in term of duty free, but in services).
No hesitation at all QR is a real 5 stars.

SIN to BAH, you will get the refurbished A340 with Gulf Air. Their First Class is
excellent with only 8 skybeds and 2 toilets. There is a Sky Chef on board who prepares cusine on demand. The beds are comfortable and spacious with duvets and pillows. These aircraft were re-fitted the middle of last year. The negative
thing is the entertainment system - you have a very large personal screen but only 21 channels and
no on demand. BAH-LHR uses a A330 with the same product. The older A340's are used on all
the other Asian destinations.

Having flown Gulf Air from LHR to Dehli via Muscat(return) A330-200, would recommend Quatar.
Gulf Air is a tad basic on aircraft - and a long lay over in Muscat (airport is 1970's) Beware
even Business Class from Kathmandu to Muscat- its a GULF TRAVELLER B767 all eccomony class even
though you have business class ticket

Qatar Airways and Gulf Air have first class flat beds. Qatar has
a newer fleet and First class
seats with partitions which are really outstanding.

Definitely Qatar. Flew from Bahrain to Frankfurt on Gulf Air. Excellent product (if you get a new
plane) and the sky chef service is a great idea. However, the cabin did feel a little cramped and
the sky chef product was nice, but on a 6 hour overnight flight, sleep was more important than food.
Also, the flight was delayed three hours (not unusual for Gulf Air). And lastly, the staff seemed
to be a little lacking in enthusiasm and I did not feel the genuine warmth that I have experienced
on Qatar Airways and Emirates. I flew Qatar Airways from Casablanca to Doha on an A340. First
Class superb. Excellent attention to detail, plenty of space and a great IFE system. First
Class terminal in Doha is also great when transferring to another flight (which I did). The staff
on Qatar Airways are superb. As a frequent traveller on both Qatar Airways and Gulf Air in the
middle east, I find Qatar far more reliable in terms of being on time which is as important as the
quality of the inflight product.
