Flying CDG to RUN, is Air Austral is better than Air France in economy? Is the Comfort class on Air Austral worth the extra money?

Yes and yes, although being a one (or two) long haul aircraft airline has its risks in the case of snowballing delays. Comfort class is a very good economy while the Loisirs class is a long haul low-cost, not pretty. Also, 10-abreast on a 777 is murder. 9 abreast (comfort) is more like a traditional coach and it has good leg room.

AF Tempo with the new B777-300ER is better than Air Austral Loisirs for many reasons: more legroom, own IFE and better food. As for price, Air Austral is often cheaper than AF. As for Comfort Class, better than Air France Alize but of lower quality compared to Air France Espace Affaires. However, I found staff on Air Austral more friendly as they go for the extra mile like serving water during the 11h night flight to RUN. Finally Air Austral lounge in RUN far better than Air France.
