Has anyone flown Austrian from Vienna to Tokyo in economy? Am trying to decide whether to go for the cheap AUA ticket or pay more to fly with ANA from Frankfurt which I know is definitely very comfortable but costs 100 Euro more. The AUA planes on the Vienna-Tokyo route are Airbus 340-300 on the outbound journey and B777-200 on the return. Leg room, seat pitch, IFE? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I've done VIE-BKK and back a couple of times (business class) on Austrian and they are far better than other European carriers to the Far East. I can't validate the comparison with ANA or any other Asian carrier.

ANA will be better than Austrian and worth the 100 extra but do take note that they operate a code- share flight with Lufthansa on their FRA-NRT route. I'm not sure but my guess is that the return journey might be operated by Lufthansa. I flew the same route last year, both legs with Lufthansa. It wasn't too bad although their 747s don't have PTVs in economy, I doubt their service is superiour to Austrian's. My advice would be to make sure that you'd actually be flying on an ANA plane on both legs.
